God I Looooooo e your reviews !!! I have been trying to tell my friends this since the demo. You took the words right outta my mouth. The actress is just bad. She killed the resident evil Netflix series as well…. I mean no no it was horrible it killed its self. But she's pretty much the same character she is in this game. In that show. And she just comes off cock, and annoying, and just swearing every 5 seconds. That's kinda her thing. So not a fan

it looks like a budget H:ZD , with animals, buildings, priests etc just worse looking. and combat is more akin to strategy games with HP depletion highlighted at every strike.
I feel like this game should have been a console launch title, looks dated.
Really a shame. I'm not usually one for the whole diversity push but boy do the protagonist we get in gaming get stale. Seeing a black female protagonist in an Isekai setting? It's different and refreshing. Of course they go and screw it up big time though. Almost feels like this was a lumious engine tech demo that they did too much work on and ended up having to turn into an actual game. Seems like they are already ditching it too since FF16 will be on UE. Bet they will make up all sorts of excuses for what it flopped and how the need to stick to live service stuff and whatever other non sense rather than admitting that they just made a bad game. Unfortunately failures of games like this just drive the industry further down the me too, BR, live service ,loot box multiplayer rabbit hole.
I'd say skip this turd and buy Hi-Fi Rush

Forsaken is a good title for this game. Everything is mashed together yet nothing is great. Even woke black character that swears and is involved in criminal activity.. damn.
Mr. Lucas is the most consistent videogame reviewer over the past almost 30 years. If it's good he tells you, if it's bad he tells you. If you disagree either way it's a great forum for videogame fandom.

See, even when you’re negative about a game you don’t just say “screw this game, it’s the worst thing on planet earth”. You see the time and effort put into the game and provide info that suggests you still have respect for the development put into it even if you aren’t having a great time with it. I respect that, Vic. 🙂

Steam has it listed for $93.49 CAD and $126.49 for the "Deluxe Edition". Way too overpriced and I thought it was going to use Direct Storage.
The only thing that got me about this game was the gameplay and that’s was the only thing I was here for.
That demo was enough for me. I'm good! Oh well, there's always Dead Space Remake for PC(running at 144fps on an RTX4090). right around the corner. 😉 Meanwhile….28 more days until the PSVR2 launches! As excited as I am, i really hope Sony releases a revised model in Q1 2026. Because as is, 'aesthetically' speaking, the PSVR2 is already looking like a generation behind the upcoming Quest 3. A future PSVR2 revised model with the following would be great >

I was thinking the same thing about the M rating. I haven't played it, but the game doesn't seem to be all that gory or anything from what the gameplay shows, but she seems to swear a lot.
It does look like generic story and gameplay, Am sure some time next year it will be one of the free PlayStation Plus games.

Sadly not a good game, played it and it was disappointing.
The swearing, overly toxic and caustic attitude is a good representation for the average western female. I think they nailed it.

I played the demo on PS5 & was bored almost instantly with the formulaic fighting mechanic, I wanted to like this game but just didn’t happen with the demo. If Vic doesn’t like the game then ofcourse I’m gonna pass on this…thanks Vic like always, best to ever do it 🎮🎮🎮
Man it's too bad this game just sort of fell apart since when it was first revealed, it looked so promising. After many trailers and delays later though, hype for it just died and you hope it would turn out better than it looked. Thanks for the great review
It would have been cooler if the game was about her dealing with life in NYC in the hood dealing with gangs and school like a persons type game

It sucks. I didn't like the demo at all and was disappointed by the visuals and gameplay but I could still kinda see potential. The magic looked cool and the idea of the mechanics and all that was interesting I just don't think it was executed very well.
Yes, the character did seem super annoying even in the demo. Forspoken almost reminds me of the new That 90s Show if you've seen it yet. The amount of cringe is unbearable at times
