I don't care what people say about chris pratt voicing mario. He'll bring joy to the movie as well as Jack Black will.
Chris pratt did amazing as Mario I wish people would just understand and do their research that Mario is originally from Brooklyn New York that’s why he sounds like that plus the movie takes place before Mario discovered the mushroom kingdom as for jack black and toad spot on 🎉

I expected everything we saw.
Illumination animating? It’s gonna look like the games.
Jack Black voicing Bowser? Clearly he’s not gonna just do a Jack Black voice.
Mario’s voice? Well the game voice is so over the top that that they’ve NEVER used it in the shows or the movie then clearly he’ll probably lean towards Brooklyn accent more.
Discovering this world for the first time? Of course. There’s no plot in Mario so in order to have a “beginning” to give context, they’re likely to say he was transported here just like in the live action movie and the cartoon. Which is where the Brooklyn accent comes from as they are of Italian descent and not directly from Italy.
None of this is surprising to me or weird. I prefer a LITTLE lean towards his game voice just because it looks like the games. But I can adjust. This isn’t a Chris Pratt issue. This sounds like something we’d deal with regardless of who voiced him. I mean why WOULD it be an issue with Chris Pratt specifically? Many people can do a Mario voice and none of them talk like Mario naturally.
Also the 1st Sonic movie was great. I would agree it’s not a great SONIC styled movie but it’s a great movie of Sonic, so I would still call it a great Sonic movie. Or at least good. People were singing its praises and then now that we have the second movie they want to gaslight themselves and each other into thinking it was just so-so. Even when people said certain things back then, it was with an optimistic tone and now it’s said with an “eh” tone so it’s not the same. lol But this does look better than the first Sonic movie. Or Detective Pikachu. Because it looks like the games. I might still like Sonic 2 more because it’s Sonic and I think it’s cooler.
I’m also happy the Sonic movies were live action because I always pictured it live action since I was a kid when the Adventure games came out and reminded me of a movie. However, I say that also wanting a CGI animated movie someday. But it’s better to get live action out of the way or else it’ll never happen. After this, there’s a chance for an animated Sonic and unlike Boom and even Prime, it would look beautiful. And more like the games. And they wouldn’t need to “introduce” anyone’s origins because the general movie-going public will know the main characters by then. (Similar to Tom Holland’s Spidey skipping an origin story because of the previous 2 Spideys). We would be more likely to see characters like Silver for example. I feel like we’re moving towards that.

I knew jack black was going to be a phenomenal bowser but, I don’t expect it to be this good. And the visuals look just stunning, it makes me hope for an animated (specifically 2D animated) sonic movie even more although what we got is still fantastic.

Honestly I'm fine with Mario's voice. Like… In the game he only has a few voicelines and noises with the high pitch Italian-ish voice but I don't think I can stand it for a roughly 1.5 hrs movie in the cinema. Just saying.

Both Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key nail their voices as Bowser and Toad, respectively. Both of them sound absolutely fantastic! I'm impressed! I can't wait to hear more of their voices in upcoming trailers and in the entire movie!
I was a huge Mario fan since my childhood days and I can't wait to watch this movie in theatres! I can feel the hype in my body because of this trailer! Man, I can't stop thinking about this movie because of this trailer.
I do understand that if you were thinking it was going to be close to actual Mario, then of course your going to be let down. old mario cartoons didnt use mario voice also, im assuming because it would be to over the top and unrealistic

I personally like the human scenes in Sonic movie 2 because if the human scenes were shorter then we would ask ourselves “why are humans here”
The more I watch this trailer, the more it excites me. I really wasn't expecting much, as my hopes weren't as high as they were for Sonic. But the fact that now two of my childhood videogame franchises are getting the big screen treatment, I am very excited. Although, Chris Pratt still isn't 100% doing it for me. We'll see

To this day I wish sonic got what Mario is doing for a movie. Video game as fuck world, plenty of characters, jam packed Marza action, etc. still happy with how sonic is doing, but still makes me jealous
As for the Mario movie, it looks great! I’m excited to see a full on video game mario movie, with no unneeded garbage like additional live action human characters or anything. Just do what’s already there but make a movie out of it! Can’t wait to watch it!

I need to hear him more but right now I was not happy I hear from word of mouth he does something with his voice and it's great. But all I heard was Chris Pratt being Pratt. So I don't know how I feel about this movie. It seems like we are going to have Bowser selling this movie. Because that part is amazing.

Just to inform, Mario's original voice was a guy with a New York accent not a stereotypical high-pitched Italian man, the Italian accent came after but that accent was only designed for video game sound effects not for movies and shows, that's why Mario doesn't have dialogue in the games, And that's why their old shows and movie had him having a New York accent, so it's not that far fetched Mario having a regular voice, if people understood that they would be more ease of mind
I'm super hyped for this! Though I will say I have very minor concerns about Chris Pratt's take on Mario but I'm hopeful they'll be all gone when we get to hear more.

When we get more trailers I want the background music to be the song "Game Over" by NSYNC. Similar to how "It's Gonna Be Me" was another song by the same band that played during the trailer for Pixar's Turning Red

I don’t know if a lot of people know this…
But Mario was never from- Peach’s world. At least- this is knowledge from the show.
He was from another one- where he and his brother ran a plumbing company in Brooklyn, before getting sucked into one of the pipes and then reappeared in the Mushroom Kingdom.
I don’t know why- but I was 100% expecting this. This may not be the official lore of Mario, but this is something that really fits into the movie making criteria, as if this were in another case where Mario was already from this world, they would have to give an explanation as to that- as where he lived and why- yknow. Looks the way he looks. Has an Italian accent- etc.
Idk- I guess this is all to say I wasn’t surprised that he isn’t from the Mushroom Kingdom world.
