There is a high possibility that the headless singer is Lingji Bodhisattva (灵吉菩萨）. in the game he was singing: " I am so regretful that i had that much mercy. monkey please don't go forward or you might get your head chopped off as well".
if anyone familiar with the book "Journey to the West"，lingji bodhisattva helped wukong to caputure the yellow wind demon but later on released the demon. this scene seemed like having close relations with yellow wind demon since it took place in the yellow wind ridge. I guess Lingji Bodhisattva got his head decapitated by either the yellow wind demon or shigandang (the lingji's stone guard). Since the background of this game takes place in the armagaddon period in the buddhism world, "the decapitated bodhisattva" seemed to be a brilliant while astonishing idea to portray the chaos of the mundane world where the dharma is gone. Nice job game science.
Since the first trailer I m waiting for this game so bad ❤ hope it will be challenging game like Sekiro and long story mode 😊 coz monkey king is a Chinese legend there are lots of movies based on it❤

I think one of his powers are shapeshifting so I think that’s what happened at the end of the game play but could be wrong

The Monkey King, is best known as one of the main characters in the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West and many later stories and adaptations. In said novel, Sun Wukong is a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices. After rebelling against heaven, he is imprisoned under a mountain by the Buddha. After five hundred years, he accompanies the monk Tang Sanzang riding on White Dragon Horse and two other disciples, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing, on a journey to obtain Buddhist sutras from the West (India), where Buddha and his followers dwell.
Sun Wukong possesses many abilities. He has amazing strength and is able to support the weight of two heaven mountains on his shoulders while running "with the speed of a meteor". He is extremely fast, able to travel 108,000 li (54,000 km, 34,000 mi) in one somersault. He has vast memorization skills and can remember every monkey ever born. As king of the monkeys it is his duty to keep track of and protect every monkey. Sun Wukong also acquires the 72 Earthly Transformations, which allow him to access 72 unique powers, including the ability to transform into animals and objects. He is a skilled fighter, capable of defeating the best warriors of heaven. His hair has magical properties, capable of making copies of himself or transforming into various weapons, animals and other things. He also shows partial weather manipulation skills and can stop people in place with fixing magic.
The supernatural abilities displayed by Wukong and some other characters were widely thought of as "magic powers" at the time of Journey to the West's writing and were often translated as such in non-Chinese versions of the book.
Hollow you have no idea how much this game makes me happy i'm literally crying of joy right now. This game is based on a true chinese tale that is extremly important for the chineses and the story is so beautiful, one of my favorite art martial movie when i was young was about this legend, the movie is called ( The Forbidden Kingdom ) and it features Jackie Chan and Jet Li and it's simply a extremly based movie you should watch it ! i'm sure you and your family will enjoy and it would set the vibe in for the game when it comes out !
