In this episode we wrap up the Giant's Mountaintops Region, including the boss. It's important to note that you should not burn the Erdtree until you're 100% ready as you will lose access to the Capital and the associated items there, including 1 legendary armament you need for platinum. Coming up next we're going to the Consecrated Snowfields.
Lmao I got invaded while looking for the hero grave. Had him dead before it was needed
In fire gaint's fight at the beginning I kept focusing on the hand in phase 2 but after many death I changed my strategy and went for the foot and it did work I killed him and he barely toutched me.
in case anyone needs one there's a loot at 23:34 that you missed – just a grace mimic though so definitely no need to pick up!
what are we even doing in these cat dungeons
I used the Mohgwyn Sacred Spear to pretty much one shot every one of the giant monsters up there.
25:00
That big cat you fought in the beginning drops a sword
If you're a completionist like me out to kill everything in the game at least once, but not much good at the actual fighting (laugh), this area is still totally possible and even really fun with a bit of patience. In the first area, you can lure all the birds and dogs into fights with the trolls. The birds near the church take a bit of coaxing, and you might have to resort to killing the last one with rock sling or arrows (same way you can kill the big handsies). Once the lesser enemies are all dead, the trolls can all be sneaked up on and poison misted one by one. Small handsies can be killed from distance with a spell or arrows. Rock sling is good for the giant ones — try to find a high spot, or if you can't, get a couple shots in from a good distance, run away, come back and repeat. They will only follow so far, so this works to keep you safe while you whittle them away. In the second area (beyond the Foot of the Forge grace), all the trolls can be poison misted except one (the one that's pacing around). Have fun figuring out the correct order and how to get around the ones that throw rocks, and don't trip over the sleeping ones. 😀 (Hint: Assassin's Gambit can be a BIG help in a couple places. The Mimic's Veil can also give you time to look around and plan without being seen.) Same tips for the few handsies that are here. There are fewer pickups, but there is an item guarded by the pacing troll, and some arteria leaves up by the high skull that overlooks the first area. (There are more arteria leaves around, too, often where enemies were.) The one pacing troll can be rock slinged or arrow shot from atop the skull hill near where the rock-throwing troll was, after you take care of that one.
Finally, Okina is a very easy cheese. Just run to the edge of the cliff and find a place to huddle in a corner. Any corner will do, really. He might jump right over you and fall off the cliff immediately, or he might land next to you and you might have to hit him once or twice to knock him off, but either way, he goes off the cliff super easy. His mask is supposed to increase dexterity, but I dunno, HIS balance sure seems poor with it on!
ROB is now trash thanks to the nerf. I hate nerfs in a 99% PVE game, they do it for the tiny population of PVP that most of us could care less about.
God bless
Back for my ps5 plat and I couldn’t be more happier. The rng during this playthrough is outstanding I’ve gotta almost all rare armor and weapons
Cowboy, love your Elden Ring guidance, but you’re always saying no need to farm runes. That may be true for someone who has an affinity for the game and kills the fire giant on the first or second go-around. But here I am on 8th try on the fire giant with no end in sight. Plenty of other Elden Ring locations where Cowboy kills and players like me flail and flail. If I have one anxiety about the game it’s losing my runes – which I do a lot more than Cowboy does. This leads me to farm from time to time, to stay afloat as it were.
Two years later and this giant is still an asshole.
Do I have to fight these god damn cats
Around 24:00, those little hands drop somber 7s btw
You get a somber 7 for every large Handsy enemy you defeat
I had the disapointment of dying to the Giant the first time (with him having less than 1% health!), but I got it the second time. FUCK YEAH!
This boss was a bitch last time I tried to fight it. Thanks for all the help Cownoy 🙂
You said you can hot swap weapons. How do you do it with Xbox controller?
9:17 “come on, either come for me or don’t. stop wasting my damn time.” spoken like a true cowboy 🥲😂
Killed the fire giant but got killed right after he died and it didn’t give me the runes for killing him 😢
i didnt even realise how broken bloodhounds fang is until i beat fire giant after months of trying with rivers of blood on another profile
Hearing that "What is happening y'all, wellcome back" feels therapeutical even
im abit late to the party but just want to thank you too much for the amazing journey. im pretty new to souls games (couple of months) started off with your sekiro platinum playlist / Lies Of P walk threw and ended up here. you've helped me sooo much with souls games, made me love them. but more importantly you made me laugh sooo many times I lost count, I haven't laughed this hard since my teen age. I love your reactions when you get damaged and I love that sound you do when you try to jump on platforms and there to high 🤣. don't get me started when you call something easy then get smashed just for talking to early 😆. keep up the good work. LOTS OF LOVE FROM UK
Fire Giant – definitely summon Alexander and your own summons. It helps a lot. It takes attention away from you to heal up and get choice hits.
Where did you get all those great runes in the beginning?
Not him saying we’re in the home stretch for the past 4 videos lol
Damn I did beat the fire giant but seeems like I missed most of that area. Didn't go through all those giants/birds/dogs…or that tomb. Will have to go back.
So after getting the rivers of blood I respeced to be an arcane dex build for fire giant… Huge.Fucking.Mistake. Even with 70 arcane and 40 dex I was doing absolutely trash damage compared to the bloodhound fang. Sure it proc’d a lot but it wasn’t anywhere near as good. Took me about 12 attempts to beat him altogether.. beat him 2nd try with the bloodhound fang. Never again dude
I'm not even angry… I'm just disappointed. 29:13
Because I have the Cowboy love of killing enemies with traps I had to lure the cat into the fire pillar 😂
Im using the bloodhounds fang and fingerprint shield and for some reason, the shiled wont stance break the cats like it does for you. I cant even get the little tink sound. My Str is the same, agi is a bit higher and poise is higher. I don't know what is happening. The cats keep beating me up. Please help!!!!!
Anyone know if that katana at 18:59 got nerfed?
@1:30 if you run towards south west from the Giant's Gravepost, you will reach the Church of Repose with another checkpoint. There's also Sacred Tear to pick. More importantly though, there's another invasion that drops very powerful IMO Rivers of Blood katana. @26:10 at the Fire Giant, one clue guys, you can use horse when he rolls to quickly get behind it.
Just bookmarking 7:34
That weapon hasn’t been nerfed 🙂 thank you for this walkthrough you are the best
Those hands drop somber 7s like candy lol
Margit/Mohgs shackle will activate/deactivate those pillar traps from different floors and all the way down hallways. So you are not wasting arrows/daggers hitting it to fall/rise. The shackles also reveal hidden walls as well.
As i have just noticed all of this has been around for a year… I have only just started playing. A bit over 200hrs ago…👍✌️
? Hey
Cowboy bean with u a long time playing elder rings
