ragnarok doesn't have armor, weapon and talisman enchantments like in 2018. like in 2018 you could still upgrade the armor but also add enchantments too even after NG+. that's my main gripe with ragnarok and i have both games.
I think it should've been a trilogy
Negative points compared to gow 2018
-the conflict with freya
-the characteristic personality of kratos was almost eliminated from the game and we only do things that the other secondary characters send you to do
-The combat was improved but it got worse in many aspects such as that you can be attacked when you cast a spell and that some enemies keep attacking after casting a normal combo
-The introduction is great but after Thor's fight against Kratos the game slows down a lot in continuing the same intensity of the plot
-ragnarok is a disappointment
-until the animation of gow 2018 when freya hits the floor with the chisel to save baldur is better done than when surtr gives the first sword blow
-After the fight with Thor and when Freya forgives you, the game becomes extremely anticlimactic.
-playing with atreus is disgusting
-the facial expressions are disastrous they wanted to copy tlou's and they only make kratos look like an angry old man
-killing odin feels like nothing because there is no real argumentative weight to feel hatred towards him (gow 2018 presented us with someone twisted who always fulfilled his plans and his wishes)
-Atreus's dialogues went from being interesting to just saying "champion jotnar" for most of the game.
for me gow 2018 was more epic, consistent and with more essence of gow than ragnarok,

I have to agree with Randy-the actor who voices Odin is from the West Wing and all I could think about while we played was how it took me out of the story because it was this dorky guy from West Wing, not the strong overpowering voice I needed for Odin as the villain.

It does feel very much like a continuation of the 2018 game!
No complaint here.
2018 was already near perfection and aged like wine.
I played it last year and it didn’t feel outdated one bit.
I’m happy that they kept the same formula and enhanced where they can.

The same gameplay with annoying characters that won't shut up 0/10
Don’t expect a sequel. Santa Monica already came out & said this game ends the norse phase of God of War. Whatever comes next for the franchise it will be the next chapter for it.
i will not buy a ps5 just to play this

The answer is first half of the game is not better than 2018 but the rest of the game is insanely better than everything
It is not as good as GoW 2018, unfortunately. I expected a game with as good of a story and the epic conclusion to the norse story that the greek pantheon had. The game is really good, of course, but since the precursor was a gamechanger on every level I hoped this game would be the same
Finished the story: it's good but not as good as others are saying (maybe 8/10)
Middle of the story and bad voice acting from some (Thrud, Odin and Freyr) put it down a few points for me
Glad I stuck it out, the end game makes up for the negatives.
It's not an improvement over the previous game, just more of the same
Honestly it's good that the recap doesn't spoil the first game too much. Just there to get you interested if you haven't played it
I will say that the lighting, especially in like the caves on svartalheim look fucking crazy
I'm one thirds through and it is the single best videogame ive played. Better than its predecessor.
This is a excellent game but i feel only the lighting feels next generation, its done very well. They did a phenomenal job making this game and i like it more than gow2018. I feel like if it was for ps5 only they couldev made it look even more true next gen but its still top notch in graphics atleast
I’m not very far in Ragnarok, but I can say it’s GOTY worthy. My only complaint, I wish it was developed solely for the PS5. It still feels like a PS4 game. I can’t wait to see what Sony/Santa Monica can do later this console generation.
