The Callisto Protocol Review – Kinda Funny Gamescast

Probably one of the worst games I played in my recent memory. Thank god I didn’t pay for it. There is just so many bad design choices in it! It feels like a chore and I will most likely not see the end credits. I feel punished for wanting to explore, there is so many boring slowdowns: door 5 steps, door, 5 steps, gap to squeeze into, when you need to stealthy shiv enemy, you think thats it and then you will need to do it 10 more times in that room, you need to stomp enemies ALWAYS otherwise no pick up for you, there is literally 6 slots in your inventory so you constantly run out of space… i can go on and on. Not sure how all of them said this game is great. Fail

No one will see this as it's 10 months later, but I really didn't like the tone of this review. To mirror most of the comments on here (which I mostly agree with) that having Glen on/being sponsored by the game and doing this review really put me off this channel for a while. I love the KF crew but this left a bad taste in my mouth. Please don't ever do this again guys. It might be good in the short term to do the sponsorship and review the game favorably, (which to me felt disingenuous and wasn't as much fun to watch as a genuine review) but people will pick up on the forced tone as I and so many others did. Then the integrity of the channel feels compromised–> people start making their way toward the door–> viewership drops –> the whole brand and community suffers.

I played it the games great at first when you play the game you're underpowered and suck and have to learn how melee works after couple hours you wanna stay up all night playing that's a great game in my book

Very skeptical on how positive this review is. Not a single review I have seen is this positive.

I loved this game. I am way more in line with Kinda Funny's review than anyone else's. I'm absolutely shocked bu the reception this game is getting.

This game has zero horror. It's an action game. Dead Space you're doing your best to keep the necromorphs at a distance, because if they get close they will mess you up. This one you want them to get right up in your face because you're a dodge master and beat them to death with a stick.

Not every game has to be something absolutely amazing and groundbreaking. Callisto Protocol reminds of a good b movie.

The game is fun and I like that it's not crazy long. Visually fantastic.

People in here freaking out about bias when they essentially gave it a 7/10 like a bunch of other outlets. If anything, this should maybe encourage KF to actually introduce half-points to their scale because so much of the audience seems to care more about the score than the conversation.
