To break the ice you could just use Cryonis. (The ice ability in your Sheika Slate)

Fuck, I went right to Zora's domain right after getting the Hylian tunic from Impa, haven't taken on any divine beasts yet and this Lynel guy keeps wrecking me! Definitely don't have the weaponry you do just yet.

He beat that Centaur much quicker than I did.. I died like a half dozen times.
It's still funny he waited so long to cook anything. At this point in the game I had a full inventory of meals, whereas he's still scrambling to find radishes and things that restore 1-2 hearts.

I still find BoTW's story to be the weakest point of the game, but I love how they handled Mipha and Zora's Domain in general.
I laughed my ass off at 11:38 when you had the option to say "come again?" to Sidon

P.S. you can use (and should've used) Cryonis to shatter Ruta's ice attacks to save arrows as well as bow durability.

Yes you can use a stealth elixir, and get all the arrows…
