gonna switch to ps5 because of all the stupid pc issues in almost every single game
If this keeps up we gonna see specific Shader Compilation Cores on GPU's mitigating this cimpletely and giving whoever comes up with it a serious edge. And all GPU's until then will be effed since games will not optimise for it anymore.
And yes, i am hopefully joking about this. >.>
I must say sumthing….
U did well on comparison with different version of stray.
We really see how it change the framerate and quality , and …. this game !!!!!!! I think I m in love with it !!!❤❤❤❤
Love cats !!!!!
Dude ur video is awsum and keep going like this I appreciate it !😃👍
Game plays excelent in DX12 with TSR and resolution scale.
Got 1080p120 fps locked all throughout the game with no stutters past initial compilation on 5700 XT + R5 3600, with very very few sections being slightly more GPU bound to drop beneath 120.
The PS5 version is much better. No questions asked.
Whats the background music name from around 4:34 to 5:50? Is it from Stray's soundtrack?
On PC ray tracing for stray has been available for some time now, although its a bit hidden. You have to launch the game with the option "-dx12". Its unsurprisingly very unpolished as there are a few visible bugs (like with the reflection of the cat model that look incorrect on most surfaces) and its also extremely heavy and without any way to mitigate it with dlss or fsr. But its also visually sticking at time, that game's cyber punk aesthetic with proper reflection and lighting (I think there is RT GI but I'm not sure) is really something. Some people have speculated that the support for RT could made official with a patch, but given several month have gone by now I find it unprobable.
How about a steam deck review?
I don't think shader compilation issues are Unreal Engine specific as implied in this video… Shader compilation slow down is apparent in many non-UE games and retro game emulators, such as Dolphin Emu. Shader compilation in Dolphin Emu creates big drags on the system as the shader cache is written to disk for the first time.
Maybe shader compilation has a bigger hit on PCs because Winblows…
PC will always have more issues than consoles, overall. I was a PC gamer for 15 years, built my own PCs, and grew frustrated with games having issues that could only be fixed by altering a config file, found months later by a forum user. Console gaming, while not perfect let’s me focus on gaming and not tinkering. I loved the mod aspect of PC gaming, but it’s issues as found here that really turn me off to PC gaming as my primary setup.
Really want to love this game Played on PC, I had very horrible motion sickness which ruin my day after playing.
Not spending 60 euros on games as long as devs don't give a fuck about players.
Enable ray tracing and make a vid
Many thanks for the video! Made it really clear what I should buy it on. I was deciding between PC (3070) and PS5. I'll be going PS5.
I do not see much difference between the maximum configuration of pc and ps5 unless I pause the image and you start to see the details in detail, however I did see annoying drops in fps in the pc version.
I think the artistic direction lends itself really well in this style of game. Finished it on PS5 just now and I was stunned at times at how simple but beautiful this game looked and played.
I’m playing on ps5 on TCLs most recent model 65 inch 4K tv. It looks freaking gorgeous. It’s almost unbelievable to look at. “Next gen” lookin. Well current gen. Lol.
"What's Up with the PC" ?
Check your Specs "Digital Foundry" ….
I see no striking differences between the three systems at all. I'm happy I'm still with my PS4 slim. A huge collection with very affordable titles…
I always laugh at the "it's free… on PS+".
By that logic, games are also "free" with MS Gamepass lol.
Amazing game, good thing I got a ps5 a few months ago 🔥
As a video game, it's a joke.
problem sad story sony always get better because it was released first sony…
So sad what sony has done to Pro Owners…
I played a hacked pirate version on PC, designed for Windows 7 – [entitled: "Stray Windows 7 Fix" – lol]
My specs are an AMD Rx480 with 8gb of ram throttled to 50% by a PCI-e 2.0 port – system ram 8GB Pentium i5 2.8Ghz – WELL below the recommended specs for this game (hence why I chose to do a pirate copy – rather than risk buying it legit, and not being able to get a refund)
It worked beautifully from start to finish – no crashes at all – and on highest graphic settings. And in hot weather – system temperature never went above 36 degrees celsius.
[apart from the fans attached to the GPU, CPU and Power supply – there are no other fans in my system]
Most of the time, I was getting close to 60FPS … except when the autosave was going on — some momentary stutter, as seems to be a feature of this game.
But – yes – I played the entire game on max graphics (I turned motion blur off – because I hate that effect anyway), on my antiquated Windows 7 machine, and it was awesome!
Not a single crash or freeze throughout the whole game – it was a joy to play!
I chose to not have the HUD or prompts – so I would be forced to think like a cat in order to solve the puzzles.
Only once, at the beginning of the game, did I break my rule when I couldn't work out how to break the air conditioning fan – I switched on the HUD and it directed me to using my mouth to carry an object and dump it into the fan.
So – the cat can carry things in its mouth. Rule learned.
I completed the game with no more HUD or prompts – as long as you play the game like I did, it's a terrific fun puzzler, with a cool dystopian sci-fi story attached …
… and SUPERB music! 🎶 [that's how you should do collectibles – all of the songs were amazing! – I didn't get two of the songs, so I'll look them up]
But riddle me this … how come my "PC" experience, on max settings, throttled to 50%, is so much better than that presented here on Windows 10 with one of the latest graphics cards?
BLOATWARE!
Or was it that the pirate circumnavigated non-essential programs – ?
I don't care – it was AMAZING on my Windows 7 machine, with old second-hand AMD 480 graphics card, at the height of a heatwave, throttled to 50% by an old PCI-e 2.0 port, on a system with only 8GB and can't reach 3GHz CPU!
Barely a glitch, except during autosave.
I'm playing this on a PC equipped with an RTX 3080 and 10700k and the game stutters so much, and the frame rate just plummets randomly. It's a shame because the game itself is fantastic, but the poor performance is becoming more and more distracting.
PS5 👍👍👍👍
Please make video for PC How to enable Ray Tracing in Stray Open the Launch option or make an shortcut and type: -dx12
I would like to see PC graphs for unlocked framerate as well. I played this game at 60+ with VRR on a 3070ti, and It was very enjoyable.
If you got problems with performance – set Effects to Medium, it helped me to get 37 FPS on my GTX 1660 SUPER in 4k (before this change, i had 18-24 fps)
Reminded me of half life..the post humanity environment , surreal visuals and puzzle doors. Beautiful
Почему не добавят режим «качество» и «производительность»? Может я хочу играть в настоящем 4К/30fps. 🤔 И где собственно поддержка HDR?
Loving this game, very well optimized. playing on 1440p 144hz pinned
just a pleasant game on PS5
NO DROP whatsoever on my end, don't Vsync, play on a 144hz monitor minimum, Ultra 4K(upscaled, then displayed at 1080p, i don't own a 4k High refresh rate monitor. i WISH tho') never diped under 80 fps (120avg).
I DID play on a empty 1Tb SSD, with 3200MHz ram.
Game seems storage and Ram relevant more than CPU and GPU, it barely takes any resouces on my GPU (less than 3gb).
i must say, the Next gen consoles really redeem themselves, its impresive to be able to reliably output 4k 60FPS content.
