The action chain challenge is easy if u put the game on easy mode it actually brings down the score requirements
Genuinely these changes has made sonic frontiers so such more enjoyable and dare I say objectively better. I enjoyed the base game when it came out, but seeing them take our suggestions into account and improve the game has put such a big smile across my face.
Bruh i decided to play the update on my normal profile and it auto saved and deleted my extreme difficulty profile. Bro Sega don't even tell you how the save files work in this game man! The second time my progress got deleted 😠
Spin dash could have a speed running trick, but if it’s about height, I would call it: Overheight because it can go up and could be useful for speed runners
I've never seen people mention that the random dialogues that Sonic says in specific areas now actually trigger and they put you to a stop
Also they added a secret costume and new music and new camera filter
I support calling this newly implemented spin dash "Spin Boost" since the name feels like a sort of evolution of the dash. It sounds cool.
I think a really cool thing they Could (but probably won't) do is add new things to bigs shop like Cosmetics or upgrades instead of things that let you skip most of the game. Maybe they could also change the BBQ game to give you Rings or maybe koco, skill pieces, seeds of power/defence, or more purple coins instead of shop tokens since its free to play
I 100%'d every island (All Memory Tokens, Conversations, Cyber Space Levels, Full Map, Chain Challenges, New Koco) and got a reward for it.
I got the "Frontier Elite" outfit for Sonic. Didn't expect them to add a reward for going 100%.
You can view your island progress by going on the map and pressing the "Switch Maps" button.
Why are we already using past tense for the update
I think the spindash is worth it because it’s not meant to be in the main game so you have to unlock it

8/10?!! My guy, WHAT. That's merely one point above good. Man you're too hard to please. This update a 9/10 at the very least. New banger music, action chain challenge (aka score attack in open zone), spindash, jump momentum (a top tier and launch issue completely fixed), cyber space better (thanks to momentum buff and spindash), TWO new costumes, an actual reward for collecting everything now (instead of being left with literally squat), new platforming challenges (literally new level design in the openzones), dynamic battle camera toggeable (another high end complaint addressed), etc… 8/10 my ass. And all this shit was free too. Nah fuck that, this shit a 10/10. Pure fact.
I honestly wouldn’t change the deceleration of movement. It’s a lot better to just stop on a dime. Jumping deceleration now turn that shit off it is beautiful carrying momentum to your jumps

I haven’t played it but from the look it it does look cool however I just realized that nowadays it seems like an update is what makes Sonic games good instead of them being good on release day because I remember when Frontiers first came out most people were like it’s okay and some were like it’s good but next game should improve it and now with this update everyone is treating it as if it’s the greatest Sonic game ever made which in my opinion is kind of lazy

You didn't talk about the option to turn of the effect boosting has on the music. We've wanted this since Unleashed

Have yet to play this game, but it seems like they absolutely cooked with these additions. For me, I guess the main things SA1 and SA2 will always have over Frontiers (from what I seen and know anyway) is the inclusion of intricate chao gardens (and in SA1's case, a hubworld with multiple NPCs) which felt like a much needed relaxing break between the exhilarating action stages and sometimes challenging goals toward 100% completion. For those reasons, the Adventure duology seem to remain my favorite Sonic experiences for being that unlikely fusion of tense challenges and serene simulation/RPG-esque gameplay. (Of course, there are plenty of other specific reasons I love the Adventure duology, but that's besides the point). That all said, my preferences are likely not a popular reason to enjoy a Sonic game. I can also see why some fans enjoy Frontiers a lot– particularly after this update. For someone like me, yes the multiple characters will really add a lot but so too would the inclusion of NPCs or more chill gameplay elements. Props to Sega for taking Ws lately with Sonic.
