If you aren’t quite ready to leave the world of Final Fantasy 7 after playing Rebirth, here’s some good news: There’s another Final Fantasy 7 game releasing soon. A board game, that is. Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Materia Hunter arrives on July 31. Preorders went live back in April and sold out very fast, but Amazon has finally restocked the upcoming board game.
$45
Considering how quickly Amazon sold out of its first wave of preorders, we’d recommend snagging one as soon as possible. And while you wait for Materia Hunter, you could explore some dungeons alongside friends in the cooperative Chocobo’s Dungeon, another new Final Fantasy board game that launched on June 19.
The game itself sounds plenty interesting, as it’s a competitive experience designed for up to four players. You’ll be split into teams (1v1 or 2v2) as you jump into the shoes of iconic Final Fantasy 7 characters and battle to collect the most Materia.
All your favorite characters are up for grabs, including Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Barret, and Aerith, among others. Each character comes with their own unique playstyle–lending plenty of replayability to the board game. Matches are fast, running for about 20-30 minutes.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Materia Hunter is far from the only Final Fantasy 7-themed product in the pipeline. A bunch of Final Fantasy 7 collectible figures and statues are up for preorder at Amazon. A handful of Final Fantasy 7 jigsaw puzzles are available to preorder, too. Heads up: The Final Fantasy 7 Remake puzzle has already sold out once before, but at the time of writing, preorders were back in stock.
