I'm replaying Shadow of Chernobyl with no visual overhauls and it still looks nice, especially the skyboxes and lighting. It's impressive that a 2007 game looks good in 4K without any texture or model packs (just widescreen patches). A few hours in and I've had 0 crashes and 1 harmless glitch (dead soldier stuck in a ceiling). I experience some stutter but I'm playing on maximum settings when I should probably lower some of the sliders
The only issue I have with STALKER is the high population of NPCs in The Zone. It's hard to find a moment of peace until you get to Rostok because the Loners sure as hell don't keep the peace in the Garbage. Bandit camps are everywhere and then you've got their scripted attacks on the train hangar. I know it's intentional to show the faction conflicts but the non-stop combat gets old after a while. I will say that the encounters become easier and faster once you get a decent rifle. Thankfully, the ZRP patches it so loading a save file doesn't respawn every enemy and mutant you just killed
How are people playing SoC on modern systems with the insanely low mouse sensitivity in menus and inventories? I had to use the unofficial patch to fix it (1.0008) but it's incompatible with a lot of the best mods. I'm guessing it only happens on certain systems or the popular mod packs come with a mouse fix
Ah. So Desolate might have been trying to ape these games a bit. Or have been considering I haven't heard jack about that game in years.

These long reviews are really appreciated. I can't begin to imagine the amount of work it must take to undertake such a massive piece (rough drafts , editing videos etc). It is quite a stunning piece of work.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a game I come back from time to time for the last 12-13 years. I was 15 or 16 when I discovered it. Shadow of Chernobyl, Call of Pripyat and all of it's variations are such an experience that will make you feel so invested. For a game from early 2000s it has mechanics that games at that time didn't even think about. If you love survival games, horror like games, exploring with slow gameplay and certain death – that's it.

yeah im sorry but im was so done with Clear Sky, youre basically doing exactly the same quest moving etc as in SOC and the story is even more annoying to get good and just when im about to see a completely new part pf the map (Lymansk) they tell me i need to go to the military warehouses to discover a way yet another part of the map that ive seen in SOC a hundred times?! no thank you

What i like about anomaly is that the settings will let you make basically your own version of Stalker experience, i always adjust it to get more money and keep the anomalies static
Weakest part of all three games is the ending. Soc isnt terrible just a massive jumpnin difficulty. Cs and cop just end so abruptly.
I played on easy, killing enemies is not even slightly difficult
Watching this video after playing through all 3 games, to me Clear Sky is 100% the weakest game in the series as it's the only one that crashed 10+ times often bugging my save making me lose several minutes and for whatever reason my gun jammed WAY more than in Clear Sky than in both of my playthroughs of Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat combined and it was just a much for frustrating experience overall.

I recently completed Stalker SoC and Clear Sky on Xbox Series for the first time. Been wanting to play them for a long time on console as I don't have a gaming pc. I very much enjoyed the original game, I'd rate it 8/10 with the best thing being the world/atmosphere and the worst being the combat. Clear sky was such a noticable graphical improvement I was pretty impressed. I loved its first new location very much. But after that it all kinda went downhill with the same map and locations as SoC. 7/10 overall. I'm still a few hours in into Call of Pripyat but I already notice the downgraded visuals from Clear Sky which is a shame which makes the game look really flat and worse so than even SoC. Also I don't like the mission structure at all, like go there investigate in 10 different locations to progress, it feels like a downgrade and is boring. I'm just sad to say this as I've had big expectations for it as I've heard from many that it's the best part. I'm not really sure I'll finish it
Stalker just came to consoles and it seems to run very well. Cant wait to get into the series.
Also I appreciate the H&K G36 love in the video. Always loved how that rifle looks.

Omg..can't believe they've j7st released the Stalker trilogy on xbox ( legends of the zone) ahead of September's release of Stalker2 on gamepass. The trilogy is £33.50 or £15.99 per game . Can't believe I'm playing shadow of chornobyl on xbox one s . 😊lol

a good mod/overhaul for Stalker anomaly is simply Called Better A-Life Overhaul and it lets you combine story and warfare modes together allowing a lot more dynamic elements to the zone as well as altering how some factions function e.g Loners no longer go out and take over places like normal factions do, due to it being the "faction of the factionless" instead there is a few locations they will try to focus on holding, like Newbie village and Xenotechs little walled workshop etc while the Ecologists will focus their attention of securing locations around the many hidden labs on the zone. Nothing like making your way back to one of your factions outpost to hand in some missions only to hear that outpost calling for help as they are under attack and only to then hear the radio pzzt to static as an emission suddenly starts up!
