Today Amazon has announced that the 2024 edition of its Prime Day is taking place on July 16 and 17 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and the UK.
And yes, for the pedants – the company is calling this Prime Day, singular, even though it’s happening over two days, logic and grammar be damned. Also, note that Prime members in India will get a special Prime Day “later this summer”.
Anyway, expect to see a ton of deals on millions of products across more than 35 categories on Prime Day. The event starts on July 16 at 12:01 am PDT and you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to take advantage of the deals.
Of course electronics will be one of the main discounted categories. New deals are expected to drop every five minutes during “select periods throughout the event”, so you can buy and then buy and then come back and buy some more.
Ahead of the event, you can request an invitation to access invite-only deals which are expected to sell out quickly. These include “up to 40% off Sony wireless headphones”. If you aren’t a Prime subscriber yet, keep in mind that you can get a free trial.
Jamil Ghani, Amazon’s vice president of Prime, said:
Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, and features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event. In fact, over the course of last year, Amazon customers saved nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons—with Prime members enjoying the vast majority of those savings—including over $2.5 billion during Prime Day 2023.
