Elden Ring – Walkthrough Part 79: Malenia & Maliketh

In this episode we tackle two of the hardest bosses for the game, Malenia and then Maliketh. Malenia is the type of boss that may require you to adjust your strategy as your ability to heal on hit makes her the victor in longer battles. If you're especially struggling with Waterfowl, the very first time she uses it a single Frost Pot will inflict frostbite and then stagger from that will break her out of the animation. She's also quite susceptible to bleed making those weapons particular effective. Your best bet is staying aggressive and locking her down.

Maliketh on the other hand can be quite aggressive himself. Physical damage reduction will help greatly in his Phase 1, while the phase 2 is a little more wild. Don't discount the Blaphemous item we get previously which can parry his destined death attack as parrying it gives a small window to get damage in, but also provides an easy way to completely avoid the incoming damage.

Been following the series and beat Malenia on the first try with a quality bloodhound and mimic. I was crazy stoked, thanks for doing this series you’ve been a huge help!

Quick tip, you don’t actually have to beat malenia to get that spell after beating maliketh. It will still go to the twin maiden husks.

I beat her today. After maybe 20 tries. Never been shaking so much after I beaten a boss

Melania was easier than I expected, Myself and Mimic simply overwhelmed her. She obviously does massive damage but if your summon os taking majority of the damage while you unga bung the shit out of her then you’re fine. Timing your dodges for her big attacks arent that hard either they heavily telegraphed so just pop your roll towards her every time.

Me and tiche against the world! I found out after dying probably 30/40 times to Malenia that using frost is probably the best way to kill her. I use the bloodhounds fang and the ancient Zamor curved sword and power stance them. The zamor curved sword’s ice storm procs frost instantly, then from that point just spam it

Hell yes! I took Millenia down in 3 tries! That was actually a pretty fun fight. I used the perfume, freezing grease, a shrimp, the mimic tear and good ole trusty blood hounds fang.

Good thing I watched this entire episode before trying either of these bosses, now I can get that spell from "the all-knowing" for free.
Edit: I tried using the 5 little dudes with greatshields summon, that was fun, too bad she wrecks them in phase 2. Took three tries after that to get her to stop moving long enough to kill her. Maliketh was WAY easier.

I was honestly so disappointed in the Melania fight. Wiped her out on my 3rd attempt (Strength/Melee build). She was so hyped by everyone, I got my hopes up for a great challenge. But I'm guessing the difficulty has been massively nerfed recently.

Thanks to your walkthrough, I was able to one-shot Malenia. And then took three tries to kill Maliketh haha.

I'm proud to say I took out Malenia on my first try. Screw Bloodhound's Fang or any other weapon. Blasphemous Blade all the way 😀

I beat Malenia my first ever attempt, on my first play through, in literally like 4 minutes… I’m doing another play through and expected to walk in this time around and destroy her… jokes on me it took me like 10 attempts lol 😂
