Callisto Protocol's Horrifying Reality (Review)

The story of spiritual succesor made by the original director for a glorious, then it falls flat on its face and ends up as "We have this game at home" is one that's happened enough times that people should've learned their lesson a while ago.

It's sad that people were so convinced that EA's Dead Space remake was gonna fail and that Striking Distance was gonna stick it to their bosses, now it looks like the remake of the game that y'all made from another dev team is gonna be better than your own Dead Space. Between this, Playtonic, and Inufune's No. 9 people gotta quit dickriding every dev that quits their studio just because they're pissed there isn't a new entry in their favorite series. Because obviously you still need the budget and resources these big publishers provide to truly make a spiritual successor to a AAA game

A cool goal for 2023 would be that when people are listing positives for a game, that we stop talking about that games looks/graphics because that's something that can be said about any game that's the bare minimum. New hardware and new engines are literally pulling that weight. At this point, it should really be mentioned as a negative seeing as that would be the anomaly. Just my opinion.

I played at night every time I played with headset and didn't get scared once, beat it on hard and mostly was a joke except when Two head boss started appearing with other enemies. I enjoyed the simplicity but yeah definitely wasn't worth the price.

Watched your streams for this and it looked like a chore. Crisp graphics but they blew everything on the graphics and just skipped on game design and mission variety.

To me this shoulda been a $40 game like Predator Hunting Grounds. I agree with some of the criticisms but others I don’t. I feel like if you’re a casual gamer that doesn’t have a lot of skill you’re not gonna like this game. I played it on Maximum Security and at first I hated the fighting mechanics but after I understood it the game became hella fun for me. The slow turn with the GRP isn’t a complaint of mine but instead a compliment because it made me choose when to grab enemies at the right time instead of trying to abuse it to cheese through hoards, I had to be smart with it and know my surrounding like know there’s a spiked wall behind me and to the left so let me bait the enemy that direction so I can quickly pick them up and shoot them into it instead of picking them up and trying to do a full 180 thus wasting GRP battery and exposing my back to enemies. You gotta play smart, this isn’t CoD.

I didn't HATE the game, but I didn't love it either. I am someone that gets scared kind of easily in horror games or movies, but I only jumped like once at the beginning of the game, as most of the "jumpscares" are very telegraphed or obvious.

This game doomed itself by drawing the Dead Space comparisons

Even MJ with the Wizards was better than this.
