Both my parents worked at 51. Dad did 27 years at one company, and 33 at another. He died a year after retirement. Mom did 30+ with a energy contractor. I tried working there in the early 90’s. When the minimum wage was $5. And jobs were scarce, this place was paying $27. I could not take the absolute boredom, I think I lasted only two months or so. My dad was so disappointed when I quit.
