If a game uses open source code with plug and play assets, then the game practically writes itself even without the AI tag line. Story arcs may be harder to fake yet I can still think of plenty examples for nonsense NPC dialog and reactions

if you use self checkout machines at supermarkets then you helped eliminate millions of cashier jobs. when farmers first started using tractors, they eliminated millions of farming jobs. most game stories and movie stories are a pile of pants. most books you'll read are shit. most actors, most comedians, most teachers. we need AI in gaming development to play test the game 100% before release, every movement, every scenario. this is one future benefit of AI in gaming I see as it fills a massive unfillable gap by humans.

Imagine in the future an AI videogame generator that will allow you to create a completely bespoke and customisable game like for example an Assassin's Creed in a time you want to visit or a DLC that corrected something you didn't like about the canon.

The people who criticize using AI for making development in any field it's like the people of the first industrial revolution who thought that the vapour machines were dangerous for the people jobs.
It's fine to use ai to code or to program and animate. But using ai to write stories, well that's just lazy writing

The argument that AI will take jobs away is honestly stupid. Using more machines to produce wears costed jobs during the industrial revolution, but increased productivity and effectiveness. Today it seems stupid that a person would be responsible for putting small rubber things onto machines or furniture but 150 years ago that was how everything was. We have to let stuff like that run it's course. Imagine 50 people standing in a production line to produce a single item. 150 years ago that was the norm. Maybe in 50 years it sounds strange to need to have people do stuff like driving or making generic coding for character dialogue.
