On 2019 April 29, the Breakthrough Listen SETI project observed Proxima Centauri with the Parkes ‘Murriyang’ radio telescope. These data contained a narrowband signal with characteristics broadly consistent with a techno signature near 982 MHz (‘blc1’)
The signal appears to have originated from the direction of Proxima Centauri. It has been given the name Breakthrough Listen Candidate 1 (BLC1). As of December 2020, the researchers were still working to rule out terrestrial interference. One researcher called it "on par" with the Wow! signal.
Is the 1999 SETI at home signal the same as the 2019 signal?

We should point every asset we have at proxima, Thank you for articulating your thoughts about looking for E.T. in the major source of radio noise the Hydrogen Frequency, I always thought that was not going to work. Particularly if you factor in the inverse square law making anything other than on-purpose high-power communication attempted at their version of E.T. impossible to detect, it's almost like that was the intention to find nothing, well that was my conclusion. I thought that quiet frequencies to do with prime numbers might be better, or the Fibonacci sequence. if you were looking for a purpose transmission. However, radar is probably the best candidate for not-on-purpose transmission detection. Because of its practical use and does not involve language, all you need to detect is a timed modulated radar frequency, without any contained data. Nothing to translate other than that could be used for the function of detection and range finding. The other advantage of that is the signal would have a detectable Doppler effect particularly if the origin was Proxima b which whizzes around its star in 11 days instead of a year, and so the origin might be easier to confirm.
It would make sense, the best chance of detection would be Proxima because its nearby and suffers least from the inverse square law
Please explain how submitting the same observation data repeatedly to the same algorithm but over distinct computers/CPUs increase the sigma value of that observation.

Hi Simon, while I found the subject compelling, I was dismayed by the intentionally misleading ending. For some reason (I think to divert the viewer's attention and build influence through a perceived authorative voice) you introduce the AI George who will read, NOT the ACTUAL GUARDIAN article you reference, but YOUR MODIFIED VERSION OF WHAT YOU FEEL THE GUARDIAN ARTICLE SHOULD HAVE SAID.
George then goes on to quote the ACTUAL GUARDIAN ARTICLE up until the 14:20 mark when your revision is introduced WITHOUT ANY KIND OF DECLAIMER that you've departed from original article. I had to watch the video 3+ times to understand this nuance.
Viewers of this video should be aware that everything past "powerful TV transmitters things like that." is entirely made up by Simon and the not ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT THAT GEORGE "QUOTES" IN THE VIDEO WAS IN THE GUARDIAN ARTICLE:

I assume that the defense here is that you did disclaim it, by saying "I'm going to interpret the article for you now" but I think the use of the AI voice adds confusion and the obvious influence play bring in 'George' makes me feel pretty confident that you know exactly what you are doing, and in my eyes at least, removes any legitimacy you might have had.

Interesting coincidence: I just caught the tail end of a radio program where a physicist from Rochester, I think his name was Adam Frank, was talking about American SETI, that they are building a big new telescope to search for ET life, and that they expect to find some evidence of ET in the next 20 to 30 years. He also commented about how unfortunate it was that many people associated SETI with the nutty UFO cults, and how that was hindering progress in the field.
His comments sounded almost like a parallel alternative reality to the content of Prof. Holland's video. It's all very mysterious.
