Lan, i think it's called dodongo's cavern because of the giant dodongo skull inside the cavern. meaning, dodongos used to exsist there until the gorons removed them entirely. ganon plagued the cavarn with their old enemy to keep the gorons at bay because they would cause a problem for him, along with the zoras by freezing them and their home, when ganon would take over hyrule. just a theory.

If you really want to get up onto the ledge, (I'm fairly sure but I've never tried) all you have to do, is come back as an adult, or go back in time, after having learned how to get around with the help of Pierre. You play the scarecrows song, and viola. You can get up the ledge by hookshot.

ahhh..i remember dodongos cavern..i remember, as a kid..i was scared shitless of it. i always thought some monster was gonna come out of nowhere and one shot me. i eventually just said "fuck it!" and charged in there…boy, was i embarrassed, lol.
