Unfortunately, I think it unlikely that 'not a real professor but an actor' Simon Holland is making up these stories and the stories are gaining notoriety because he is being believed. Please take any information he provides with a huge amount of scepticism. It is possible he is a genuine Ufologist but that amounts to nothing if he is found to have made up ANY of the information he has presented. I would recommend that any of the contents in his podcasts are not repeated without determining their credibility first.

Please explain how submitting the same observation data repeatedly to the same algorithm but over distinct computers/CPUs increase the sigma value of that observation.

My dad had the SETI at home thing on our home computer when I was a kid. I used to just stare at the screensaver thing and think about how cool it would be if we ever found aliens.
It seem reasonable if the think they found something with SETI that they build better tech to make sure its not something else. 20 years is a fair timeline to decide what to build get a budget and build it in the space community. We went to the moon 50 years ago and were only just trying to get back there now.
If we could listen to them could we read their internet and gain technological leaps, Should be fun can't wait.
