While this configuration works well for many games, packing the capabilities of a PS5 into a handheld device is simply not possible. Therefore, the PS Portal uses Sony’s famous Remote Play system, which has already allowed users to stream their PS5 games on other devices for several years.
But, considering that you can stream to any device, you might wonder what the PS5 Portal is for. The answer is optimization. Historically, people using the Remote Play functionality have complained about lags or stutters caused by various factors.
The PS Portal claims to fix all these issues by optimizing the device to handle PS5 gameplay. All you need to do is power on your PS5 and ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and that’s it!
