Your mimic seems to work. Mine will stand around looking at the scenery until he gets hit by something and even then he won't be in a hurry to engage. I'm lucky if I get some distraction from him (I used to love working out the mimic strategy, now more frustrating than useful). What's your secret?
I died 10 times to the armored furnace golem. Decided to go wandering and found the embers of Messmer for the furnace pots. Came across another armored golem out of nowhere and managed to kill him. Came back later and killed the other one on the first try. Point is, sometimes it’s good to go elsewhere bc it gives you something else to focus on. Btw messmer the impaler is ridiculous, came across him while wandering aimlessly

They had to have patched the distance the furnace golem can do his fire attacks or at least this one. Maybe fromsoft already patched it as it was a shield essentially and the DLC wasn't hard enough so they are like lets make it harder. I stood where you did behind that big tombstone and got annihilated. I even ran almost to the cliff edge behind the tombstone away from the golem and it still hit me. I HATE these things. Took me 6 pots cause I couldn't lock onto him and had to aim best I could into his fire pit.
I did not find Bayle difficult. I think by using the summon guy and the mimic with the Killer Dragon sword skill makes it easier. Also, you can apply the "random bullshit go" tactic and throw all the hefty bloodfly if you are afraid of hit him from a close position.
