Defintiely should have an updated video for 2023. I mean it may not be as fun to do as the other types of vids which GN does on a regular basis but I feel doing one is like going back to its roots, plus I appreciate Steve's detailed, albeit sometimes dry and flat, commentary with interesting factoids.

Also you can just put the PSU in the case, connect the PSU to the socket, with the socket switched off, then connect the wrist strap to the case.

Not gonna lie, I haven't watched this video fully yet. I just wanted to comment saying, I'm an idiot. I want to build a PC but I have no confidence to actually do it, I'm actually nervous of getting parts then they don't work together regardless of how much research I do.

Is there a way I could get components that are compatible with this? I would like to use it as my main case, If I can I would like at least the following:
GTX 10(Something maybe 70 or 80)
2 TB
16 GB RAM
Disc Drive
3 Video Ports (I have three Monitors)
the Obvious Things, USBs, Ethernet Port etc… (I know it's silly to list since it's there already but hey I need to be treated like a baby XD) FYI I know how to power up the pc hehe
Overclocking is great but not necessary in my eyes (Then again I don't go trying to find out how overclocking games makes a difference)
SSD I heard great things about putting OS on them but I don't know how you would select that specifically over the regular hard drive to put it on the SSD in the first place)
I also would like to have Windows 10 but Amazon shows some "Scams" they say and I don't see an official Windows 10 recommended by Amazon to buy.
Also the case above in my Preffered case to use is called a "Raidmax Viper" Orange and Black and is a Mid-Tower Case.
Also I'm 21 and I think I'm thick when it comes to PC components (as stated already lol) but I'm not.
I am saving up as of right now so I have time to make up my mind but I want to get this somewhere so I can get input from smarter people in this field (Most likely EVERYONE).

That MOBO was flexing because of the weight of the cpu cooler, and the fact you were only supporting it from the very edges of the board! Had nothing to do with "Over tight" screws…smh…sigh. You don't have to concoct some mechanism of fear of "Over tightening" fasteners.
Can this pc run roblox or minecraft?
Optical drives obsolete? Come on have you ever heard of an EAC rip? You need an optical drive for that. I believe it's plausible to build a gaming capable rig that looks good and can rip/archive/play music. I WILL install an optical drive in either a NZXT s340 elite or a Phantek P400S. Many of you hard core gamers with multiple rigs will call me an idiot but if there room in a case….it should be an option. All current cases should be modular so you use what you want and all OPTIONS are available.

So how the thermal paste should be applied for best use? Very thin layer spread across the surface or grain of rice style? Every video tells different things. Even you used both of those styles.
The first time I built a PC I was 15 and Battlefield 2 had just come out (around 2005). I had to save up for a whole year to buy the parts which was a good thing cause it took me about as long to figure out what the fuck had to buy in the first place. Looking back on that, I have no idea how I didn't it fuck up haha. These videos would of been really helpfull to teenage me.

I am in utter amazement and shocked at all the comments from people bitching about the technical language. I mean seriously guys, if you want to do this and do it right don't be so damn lazy and want a simpler tutorial. It really does not get any simple than this and if you are so lame as to complain that he is using too technical a term, then do yourself (and us real geeks) a favor and just go buy a fucking Dell and move on! Otherwise search the web, buy some books and get up to speed with the nomenclature of a computer! Fucking lazy ass millennial's anyway!
I strongly disagree with installing video card last. other steps were decently ordered. Minor revision as such….
install mobo in case DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN SCREWS, install video card and screws. This will/can slightly shift the mobo so that all the pci slots will properly line up in the future when installing cards. I cant tell you how many systems I have worked on built by others that the slots dont line up properly and the screws dont want to go in or you need to force the card to the side a little. once the video card is installed, then you can tighten all the mobo screws. after that I usually uninstall the video card to complete the rest of the build. In my opinion this is a crucial step that is missed by 90% of builders.
