I have mixed feelings about this video. On the one hand, I participated on Joerg's website/forum around 15 years ago for a few years. He's a pillar of the Area 51 enthusiast community, and too knowledgeable and smart to fly a drone where it shouldn't be flown. But if he was guiding German friends or clients around the area and they made a stupid mistake, maybe he'd try to help cover it up? I don't know him personally, so I can't say.
Would base workers or camo dudes make up seeing a drone, or mistake a plastic bag for one? Not in my experience, and I say that under 2 months after Kansas troopers made a bogus traffic stop on me, then had a drug dog make a bogus alert, so they could do a warrantless search of my car.
The perimeter security folks for Area 51 are really reliable at not violating their rules of engagement, even if they do some seemingly aggressive stuff like following and appearing to chase tourists as the tourists leave, to discourage them from coming back. Or blasting a klaxon horn to scare the crap out of you. Or moving vehicles around to make it look like they're going to come after you. Or flashing their headlights so you don't know if that just means they see you, or it is a warning they're going to do something if you don't leave.
So this bodycam video is the only hard evidence we have, and it doesn't quite make sense. If the base had caught a drone on video (and there is no way it would not have, if there was a drone) I can see why they might not show the drone to Joerg or the Germans, maybe not even to the sheriff. But it seems they SHOULD have been willing to at least tell the sheriff they had hard proof, and they only told him they insisted they saw it. So, the sheriff was right to keep an open mind himself.
I don't think this incident was the cause of Joerg being raided. The warrant mentions publishing stuff illegally. So, he was raided for other stuff that had been put on his website, IMHO. No drone footage from this incident was put on his website, whether or not any was taken. He'd know better than to publish drone footage at either gate, even if it was sent to him by a random person. His website has a long history of acting within the law, even if pushing right up near the limits of the law, just as the Air Force and sheriff do out there. Normally, everyone plays by the rules. The people getting trouble are usually the clueless tourists making innocent mistakes, not the experts like he is.
He does lose some points in my mind, from saying there was just himself and "a couple of tourists" at the gate. Made it sound like they were not associated with him. Then it turns out the tourists are Germans (as he originally was) who he is likely guiding there, or are his friends. It is better to say nothing, than to say stuff that is intended to give an incorrect impression, even if it falls short of lying. Maybe he wasn't associated with them, and just felt a wish to keep them out of trouble as tourists from his own former home country.
Hey those same conditions or that mathematical formula rotation that pulls you out into the housing I used to work for Moog we made rotary parts but atmosphere always blue on them you ought to make sure they receive some of my data or did you already get some of it

If i got into area51 i properly keep driving until im inside but im british so i can't and im autistic so i can't get in ai can't drive cos i also have epilepsy but ive found out the key the key is to keep going and dont stop
