U guys r awesome I've watched u since I was 5 and I love ALL of ur vids!
I'll note – it wasn't just "Woke" people who disliked Other M's portrayal of Samus – just about EVERYONE did – it bombed in Japan, the one place they were trying to appeal to by changing Samus's personality.
And no, she wasn't "pretending she wasn't a man" in other games 😛 She's a tomboy, not the ideal "Perfect Japanese Lady", which is what Sakamoto was going for. It completely contradicted her personality we saw in Fusion and the Prime Trilogy. THAT'S why we were mad.
Gameplay-wise, it wasn't TERRIBLE, though there were some questionable decisions ("If I don't have this only use two buttons, then I failed as a game designer"? WTF?)

K-wing I feel the need to point out the fact that the beginning of Metroid Other M was effectively the end of Super Metroid. I mean Baby Metroid saved Samus giving her enough power to use a Hyper Beam on Mother Brain and kill the traitorous thing. So how in the world can you call it a remake of Super Metroid?
Also to be honest I can't figure out how Amber hasn't realized that the games Title of "Link's Awakening" means well you know. It is too bad that you weren't able to get the secret ending though, when I saw an LP for the DX version of this game the player was able to complete the game and show Marin in the form she dreamed to be.
