Yasuke isn't samurai no documents the prove that he was a "Samurai".
Investors still have time to cash out!
Star wars outlaws and assassin's creed shadows… goddamn, talk about two games thag no one, except for people trying to push their back-dated agenda, is looking forward to!
Sorry Japan bros, Japan is entirely ran top down by liberals. USA is going to shoehorn liberal academics to canonize it. It’s just a matter of time 😭
It comes as little surprise that a subversive would say such things about Yasuke. After all, a nation is widely defined by its' history.
The communists want to undermine civic pride and nationalist ideology wherever they may find it.
And historical revisionism is a great tool in sowing the seeds of revolution, turns out. If you can control a country's history, you'll inherit their past.
And if you own their past, you will also gain control over their future.
7:26 – that's not even CLOSE to the correct pronunciation….
Ubisoft really pulled a Jadah Pickett Smith and accused the country of origin for being racist
Since we are going full historically accurate here, there better be giant enemy crabs which appeared in famous battles that actually took place in ancient Japan
Out of all my years being into games, when it comes to Japan and their reaction to how the country and its history is depicted basically follows a very simple principle. Even if its the negative events and or aspects of their history/culture, as long as its true, they typically don't say much at all. But if its patently false, they WILL NOT stand for it. And I respect that about them as a people. All nations and peoples of the world have done terrible things, how you choose to own it or not says a lot about the mindset of a people. If your going to take something as revered to their culture like the Samurai and their importance to the history of the country. YOU HAD DAMN WELL BETTER GET IT RIGHT! No matter what country we are talking about. If you cant be bothered to put in the work to get it right, pick another topic/setting. Ubisoft is both unable and unwilling to put that amount of care and work that would require.
Happy belated birthday man
I'll say it again, even without the fact that Yasuke was never a Samurai, a game called Assassins Creed shouldn't have a samurai in the first place because they weren't assassins, it goes against their code of honour.
"If it feels like it happened that means it happened" yes, that must have be/been a comfort for everyone starving under communist regimes "it feels like I've eaten this week so i must have eaten this week"
It doesn't even matter if Yasuke was a samurai or not, because the actual problem is that they tried to make Yasuke, who is not Japanese, the protagonist of Japanese history. They are implicitly insulting the Japanese people by saying they are not the rightful inheritors of their culture.
I can think of nothing more woke than that.
I'm Canadian and it pisses me off hearing that Ubisoft is trying to rewrite Japan's culture and history that's why i'm not buying the game.
damage control 100%
if they wanted a black dude to be a samurai, why use yasukes name?
their mouths are so brown from all the bullshit they spew
i dont understand why all of this drama is needed to not buy ubisoft.. i havent spent on these horrible companies in a decade and i didnt buy a single SBI product 'on accident'
this is the lemmings waking up i guess
"never present our games as factual representation" Ok then why have a black MC in fuedal era of Japan who really existed claiming he was something there is evidence he was something else? That just screams you are letting DEI crap into the game (which may not be what it is) when so many games are doing Just that. Every other game the char least fit the era where they were in this case the MC doesn't fit.
wait sorry im new here and i got catfished this is uhm weird
Funny because in AC Odyssey they actually went around and took tens of thousands of pictures of current Greece and surrounding area to recreate it as accurate as possible. And they said that in a behind the scenes. So to say they never try to be historically accurate in their games is a flat out lie. They have been hyper focused on historical accuracy since AC4. Us AC fans know its always been a fictional story told in a historic background. Ubisoft simply googled "black man in feudal Japan" and went from there. I even remember Ubisoft saying in a behind the scenes vid that they wanted to be educational as well as fun. I'll never support them again. I've spent thousands on their games and would have continued to spend but they messed up big time.
I can’t believe you are in support of this stupid drama it’s so freaking stupid. The Japanese have double standards like they produce anime like this on a daily basis, but God forbid an American company produces Japanese type game and people hate it from Japan
Its funny because if they would have just written the character as an outcast that came in on a flaming ship that was attacked and then trained to be a samurai because he couldnt leave the country.
They wouldnt be in this mess 😂😂😂
Boom problem solved ubisoft 😂😂😂😂
MC shouldve been Sarutobi Sasuke.
one thing westerners need to learn about asian is that they shouldn't mess with them
asians bites back, mess around and find out, we asians dont take insults lightly, especially if you think we are just an accessory for your "diversity" movement
If they release this game without removing the "black samurai" element, nothing they say post and prior matters. They will have still rewritten history, since the legacy of Ass Creed Games implies historical accuracy if not relevancy, in gamer's minds. They should just scrap this, and go back to the drawing board.
Seriously?? Shogo is just a japanese person. Nothing more, nothing less. Who the hell selfishly called him a japanese culture wise man??
Indeed, as a japanese, he knows his points same way I know mine from my country Spain, but from that to take him as THE reference… how many desperate people are out there to explain their issues and problems using another person work?? Just sad…
imagine living in a time when a white liberals knows japanese history better than japanese people.
@Revsaysdesu are you actually outraged about fiction in a video game? The professor lying about history is one thing, but ya, it's a ****ing game. It wouldn't even cross my mind that anything in it was true in the first place.
The first black slave turned samurai was actually Tom cruse
Do people even play ubisoft games anymore?
I think the biggest problem with this whole thing was any attempt to say that Yasuke was a Samurai IRL. It seems like it would have gone much better if Ubisoft just played this as: "Yasuke was a real life person in Japan at the time, we know very little about him, so we decided to make a fun 'What if' story about him being a Samurai. "
I've only played the Older AC games, up to Unity, but they always took place in a Historically accurate setting, with a fictional story, and fictional protagonists.
Plus, the whole Assassin's thing is a real Western Organization that doesn't really belong in Japan in the first place. An AC game in Japan is absolutely awesome and bad ass, but it's hard to narratively justify them being in Japan, but I don't know the direction of the newer games.
At any rate, this feels like a massive missed opportunity for an outsider, maybe an actual African, to infiltrate the Japanese society in the shadows. He would do his thing then be forgotten by history, like all the shadowy assassins. I think they made their decisions purely for character aesthetics, and are sacrificing the story for that. Plus shouldn't the assassin's organisation be purely Shinobi here, the Samurai, especially serving Nobunaga, definitely feels like a Templar thing. Maybe I just don't understand the new AC and they made massive changes…
Yasuke was a glorified slave. People glaze him too much just for being an African in a far-off land.
Ubi: He was a samurai.
People: Really?
Ubi: In fact, he was a legendary samurai!
Let's ask Shogo reference! 4:12
Happy Birthday Rev!
I would have never been able to pass world history without assasins creed helping me study.
Oh yes I remember the history lessons where george washington turned into a tyranical dictator worked with templars and planned to take over the world using ancient artifacts left by the gods.
Or all those times leonardo da vinci wrote about being friends with assasins.
The amount of sheer goofunes around this game has made me actually curious tovards the game. I actually want to see how mutch of a dumpsterfire the game is. And this is not said Ironically. Becouse now ubisoft will go purely "in pure spite" mode for this game so the goofynes get even more spinn.
That anime girl voice is deep hahah
