Its a solid 7 outta 10…not the best not the worst …almost as good as AC Odyssey
The combat is still a step back from the original trilogy. The graphics are nice, but Kratos moves like a tank and the camera placement ruins the overall experience. More like an 8/10 for me.
good game but played it after cyberpunk and its expansion and just want to play more cyberpunk
It needed a 10
I hate this game.
GOTY ❤
Story: 11/10
Combat: 8/10 (cos off-screen hitting you)
Overall: Buy it you fool!
God of War is the best video game I have ever played in my life.
Honestly, I think this is one of the weaker ones. The game went soft and mussy Kratos was revered as a madman and now he's like the new version of Mike Tyson. Even though the graphics were fantastic. How are we supposed to react being elders of the game? Talking squirrel and play dates really didn't work for me. This game is not what I expected after playing straight through it I deleted it! I was more intrigued by the ghost of Tsushima instead of by the ghost of Sparta.
@14:55 can you use the awakening relic on that or on the statue in the light temple?
I may just be impatient, but I feel like this game is unessicarily drawn out with unessecary dialogue options, unneeded favors, and Atreus snooping where he shouldn’t. I got a whole spear to save my child, and he just pops up. Then he goes missing again. It’s repetitive, to say the least.
How did they not give it a 10!
Gamespot really needs to work on their editing 18 minutes and giving away nuances tht players should be discovering for themselves? Really disappointing.
So deathloop and disco Elysium are a 10 but none of the gow reboot games are, nice logic
The pacing of the game is just incredibly poor in both gameplay and story. Ragnarok has little to no replay value for me, which in my books means it is not a masterpiece of a game like many say.
Wouldnt it be badass if in the next GoW game when Atreus embarks on his own journey in another patheon and meets his half sister who died in the first GoW game and ended up being resurrected behind the scenes by a Greek God before Kratos destroyed Zeus. In turn Kratos's daughter would be holding a grudge against Kratos for his actions and leaving their homeland in ruins. Then Atreus would have to deal with his half Greek sister.
It’s a story about determinism? Does the Merovingian have a cameo?
It seems that lots of games are built after the same recipe today. Look how similar this is to Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon forbidden west and Red dead redemption.
Hogwartz Legacy will be the same
God of war ragnarok is the best narrative of a game I've played in a long time that it actually makes the dinosaurs that sat in the throne question themselves. Games are not made well anymore but if you buy god of war ragnarok and love rich story open worded games this is for you and its so well paired with the ps5. I'm 25 hours in so far and I have shredded a tear in some very serious and warm hearted moments from something I'd never thought to see kratos in. Buy it and you won't regret it. It's a platinum medal 10/10 game from me and I've played since 1997
It’s a 10 , near perfection
Amazon prime can spend a ton of money to make the tv series….
not sure if the writings , acting and action would come anywhere close to what santa monica has achieved
But hey, if the money received helps the studio to make even better games than why not…
The only thing that was holding this game back was the limitations of the ps4 console, which they needed to develop for,
So u can tell in
1) the crawls, the nooks, the travelling needed to load levels
2) the limited numbers of enemies on screen
but they somehow managed to do it all
PS5 version is best so far,
And PC's will be even better too
Hopefully we'd get to see a remastered version in PS6 with ray tracing, better textures ( some levels received more attention to detail than others ), and as few (or many had hoped) a longer war campaign during ragnarok itself….
