In today’s episode I talk about why there is no reason to play breath of the wild in 2023. Its because Tears of the Kingdom is just …

What?
BOTW has the master cycle, no time to worry to about underground or the sky, less grindy than TOTK, BOTW soundtrack is better than the sequel one, Trial of the Sword, infinite bombs, etc.
It stands on its own and can be replayed just fine after TOTK.
What an absolute dogshit opinion lol if you haven’t played BotW, you should play BotW. Especially if you’re trying to play TotK
if i never played zelda before should i play BoTw or just skip it to TOTK ?
botw > totk
Skyrim clears😤
I agree with you. Much better than BOTW.
Not your style, ok, thanks for your opinion
I have a reason playing BOTW in 2024…
I never played BOTW before, and want to experience it BEFORE playing TOTK.
So, sorry, your argument is invalid.
100% agree. 👍👍 Tears is the actual Zelda game upon the sweeping mechanical foundations Botw laid. The Regional Main quests were so much more , I felt so much more attached and what I was doing actually had meaning and true reward. Not empty, hollow Skeletal gargantuan robots – but actual Temples! TOTK (8/10) isn't perfect but it's a heck of a deal better than Botw (5/10.)
2:44 One of many many points I concur with you here! Great video , ignore the salty Botw stans and general ignorant haterz.
one word mods
I still play 😭😅
Finally. Someone responding to the totk hate. Respect, man.
Excuse me i play breath of the wild for 2,485 hours and its 2024
Is this video a joke?
I guess rumors that Gen Z has less IQ than my generation is true.
I've been putting it off for 3 years, so I can finish the whole series first.
this video made me realize that both games are actually verry different
Oh they are both two peas of the same pod. Masterpieces. I don't care that Breath of the Wild doesn't have traditional dungeons, I liked to pretend many shrines were Dungeons in the Past. There is alot of stuff to do in Breath of the Wild….makes me truly think that Breath of the Wild is just a retake of the Original Legend of Zelda for the NES, "Take this Sword". That game too was like Botw and it was an Open World Game but the year was 1986 so it did not look like BOTW lol.
I still think BotW was better as an overall experience.
People must be hig on steriids if they watch this video
Breath of the wild is the most criminally overrated game ive ever played. I legit quit after like 25 hours of getting nothing done and just replayed OOT
I think you can tell my favorite just by my hours
Botw: 650+
Totk: 2
You know what does not make a sense for Link's character? Him wearing some champions tunic instead of the original.
Nostalgia
I miss the master cycle bike😢
yeah, let's just throw away anything that is not new, totally 😒
(for those who missed it, that was sarcasm)
restarded ahh take
Terrible video, you know the video is bad when everyone in the coments is criticizing it
Botw dlc bouta make me spend thousands of hours. (I already beat it, im just fucking around with the master cycle and getting every dlc outfit.
the like/dislike ratio says otherwise
TotK has story and gameplay.
BotW is poetry.
Personally, the shrines in totk are way WAY more boring. They mainly serve as tutorials, not puzzles and there are 48 blessing shrines that each have the same quest! In botw, there was variation for blessings, like eventide, getting that ice in the desert, the mazes, etc, etc and the puzzles felt like puzzles. But I do have to say, proving grounds are way more fun than tests of strength.
Naaaa i always play botw more just because of the motorcycle
Sometimes less is more.. and TotK is way, way too much.
I went back to botw just to replay master mode.
It was a good challenge, execept for one part
One part which was so unbalanced, you have to do it one specific way to even complete it.
The trial of the sword.
More specifically, beginning trials, floor 10.
In normal mode there's 2 black lizalfos, which was just okay, but then master mode makes the SILVER
You pretty much have to instantly kill the blue one at the start or the silvers get alerted, and then sneak strike the silvers with a weapon only found in one room, which could be burned because the only consistent way of dealing with said room is bomb barrels
The room is just straight unfair
I can't wait to get a Switch OLED to play Zelda Breath of Wild for the first time !!
I revisited botw and had a lot of fun and after that i played totk for the first time and it was great to. i like the dungeons more in totk but miss throwing bombs.
And the cycle repeats
The hours you spend in The Great Plateau in BOTW is open world gaming at its peak. A perfectly designed area in being just large enough to feel huge without sacrficing on gameplay. BOTW falls into the usual open world traps after that, but TOTK does so immeditately and its own starting area is far weaker.
No it isn't. Still an amazing game in 2024
It’s because you just got to take your time and explore side missions and just take in what’s going on. It’s one of the best Zelda games because it was the first high graphic open world.
I am replaying botw right now and I could have beaten the game in 20 hours if I wanted to since I sped run it, but I took my time and explored.
Botw was so boring and repetitive. I hated the stupid shrines.
I dissagree. If you didn't like BOTWs exploration, that's just you. I loved it. TOTK had no exploration, because you enter almost every new area from the air. I liked the new powers in TOTK, but the shrines were way too easy. I had my friend start with TOTK, because I thought like you, that it was better in all ways, but now (having finished the game) I regret not having him play BOTW first instead.
BOTW is the brilliant game. TOTK is just the remake. Not a sequel, but a remake. The Depths, get boring after 30 minutes, and when you've seen 3 sky Islands, you have basically seen them all. The rest of the map is almost Identical to BOTW other than those new Areas. All the loot is copied from BOTW and so are most of the monsters. And I dont think I have to explain why the Guardian Machines from BOTW are more exciting than the New Robots, that are just reskinned Bokoblins.
My man, even though I'm late for this vid, I'm playing BOTE for the 2nd time now. Last time was at 2020. It feels like new to me again. Im playing this back before enter the TOTK.
This video is pure opinion and opinions don’t matter in the gaming world. 😂 go away
i don't know why i cant like this games..
I actually liked the shrines in botw a lot… and I would play it again just for the the 4 divine beast puzzles. These are just brilliantly designed!! I play games for over 40 years now and its one of the best single player games I ever played, even with the low gfx!!! the design, the physics, the 'be-as-creative-as-you-want-kills, hilarious at times… and.. I only saw 1 glitch in all my plays . A merchants horse outside the stable was half sunken in the ground 😀 but thats all… brilliantly made.
Honestly… I value both games equally. First off I have not played TOTK, only BOTW. I have merely watched through TOTK. When I watch videos of both games playthroughs with diff youtubers as of recent I find that TOTK has WAY better shrines and you feel more inclined to travel physically rather than teleport. When I played through BOTW I had already spoiled the entire game for myself, yet I loved every bit of it… especially the story. The characters in BOTW get more attachment out of me, than in TOTK. To me the champion and other main quest characters in BOTW have more pull than in TOTK. The Vah Ruta questline is one of my fondest moments in BOTW whether watching someone experience it or playing it myself. I would say that TOTK has better gameplay no doubt and a solid story. BOTW just feels better through the story quests for me and the gameplay is still solid. Also, TOTK's story would not be nearly as impactful without prior knowledge and attachment to characters from BOTW. BOTW is a very complete game whereas TOTK requires prior knowledge to get the full thing (story and world building wise). A gripe I have with TOTK is the difficulty does not seem to be balanced the greatest. Its quite… easy when you compare both games base difficulties. Even the cool gimmick cube flux bosses are made a joke even by the intended feature way of beating them (ultrahanding the main block). One issue I had with the sage abilities. They felt underwhelming. BOTW's abilities were too strong, yes, but TOTK's abilities felt almost useless aside from the content built specifically for them. When I binge watched TOTK I realized Tulin's air dash ability is basically useless. If you find yourself in need of it, just use cheap Zonai parts and get to the desired destination even faster. Sidon's bubble shield water attack thingy is always consistently useless in any combat that did not have sludge. The sage avatars also block the player's aim and interacts sometimes. The avatars have underwhelming AI, attacking once in a blue moon while staring opponents down. I am lazy and will not go further in depth. 🙂
TLDR- To get the full 100% enjoyment out of this story you must experience BOTH games in order.
Of course it's worth playing. That's why I have 500+ hours in on it, and only 285 in on totk
Stating that you can't enjoy BOTW because of TOTK is like claiming that you can't play Oot if you've played MM. It's nonsense. They are two entirely diffirent experiences, aspects lacking in one or the other are not their weaknesses, but their strengths.
