Windwaker is not S tier lol
Legend of Zelda is like Super Mario brothers, like things that literally define some peoples childhood. In the 80's we didn't have much LOL but it was amazing!

I feel like OoT is overhyped, great game but its not perfect, solid high A tier. The water temple is too tedious and the enemy design that requires you to just wait in order to attack just feels like its padding for time. Again, revolutionary game, set the precedent for how 3d combat is still handled today, but it has too many small issues that add up in order to be an S tier game.
Breath of the wild D tier 😂
The original Zelda is an immediate F; the game forces you to blow up several different walls to open secret doors in order to beat the game and gives absolutely zero hints about where they are or even that you can blow up walls in the first place. Without the use of some sort of guide the original Zelda game is virtually impossible to beat.
Unpopular opinion but I think Zelda links awakening was one of the most fun zeldas to play through and when it got a remake I had just as much fun as the original

Majoras Mask is definitely my favorite Zelda. It is really hard choosing between Majoras and Ocarina, because they are both pretty much perfect games in my opinion. Some of the very few games I would give a perfect 100% score. The adventure aspect is definitely better in Ocarina; that is to say the main quest is longer, there are more unique dungeons and the dungeons are just better overall. A lot of people I know felt like Majoras Mask was way too short… like it was missing an act. I personally took my time playing this game and there was just so many side-quests, character story-lines, items to find and places to explore that it didn't feel shorter than Ocarina at all. Going back to Ocarina of Time after playing Majoras Mask kind of felt like… all the characters were really one dimensional. As a kid I just spent so much time getting all the masks and basically theorizing about all the weird people/creatures you encounter in the game and it was fascinating. A lot of them you can follow around and see them do different things depending on what day it is. It all just feels more meaningful. There isn't that much to do in Ocarina when you aren't following the main story line, which is why I spent way more time playing Majoras Mask as a kid.

Windwaker is by far the most underrated zelda game
I can't help but be a little offended with your opinion on Zelda 2. It's so nostalgic to me, I loved the atmosphere. I haven't played all Zelda's (mostly handheld ones) but my top 5 would be:
1. A link to the past
2. Twilight princess
3. Ocarina of Time
4. Zelda 2
5. Majora's mask
And my least favorite that I've played is probably breath of the wild. It was a good idea, but my favorite part about Zelda games are unique items and dungeons and botw had none of this. Like you said though, even the worst Zelda game is still a good game.

I became a Zelda fan when botw came out, so I haven't played all the games, but this is my tier list based on which ones I've played:
SS: Botw (Love the atmosphere, the music, the cutscenes the gameplay, everything, even the divine beasts)
S: Totk (Amazing game, but WAY too similar to botw. It's basically the same as botw but they added a few things. Plus, they got rid of the master cycle and 60 damage master sword)
A: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (Very underrated game, I loved the story, I don't care if it's not canon, it can still be a good story)
A Link to the Past (So fun, music is great, just a little repetitive gameplay wise)
Skyward Sword (People hate motion controls too much, I was fine with them. Story and music are great, the only thing is there could be more places to go other than Faron, Death Mountain, and Lanayru)
B: Link's awakening (Felt like a Zelda game, but there's nothing too special about it)
C: Ocarina of Time (Very overrated for me, it was a fine game, and it has a good story, but it is sometimes very janky and hard to play. Also, I got confused as to where I was supposed to go a lot in the game. For example, how was I supposed to know that I needed to hit a random rolling goron with a bomb to progress in the game? It just felt a little vague to me)
The Legend of Zelda (Same reasons as OoT, just worse because it's not 3D and doesn't have much of a story)
D: The Legend of Zelda II (Same reasons as OoT and The Legend of Zelda, but even worse because it is WAY too hard)
I know a lot of you are going to be pissed with that OoT ranking, but remember, it's just my opinion. I don't think it's a bad game I just don't think it's the best game of all time like people say it is. I respect your opinion If it's your favorite game in the series, I'm happy for you, it's just not my personal cup of tea.
Theres no way BOTW is better than OOT. BOTW has amazing mechanics and the world is fun to explore. The characters are mediocre, the story is bad, the dungeons are trash, collecting mushrooms and making meals gets tedious after the 3rd or 4th time. Awesome tech improvement for the franchise, but its A at best.

I grew up on NES Zelda and got ocarina of time for Christmas one year and I was obsessed with that game. It’s my fav game ever made. Sure, I was stuck on the water temple for almost a year. But I enjoyed finally figuring it out and beating the game 😂
People hate Adventure of Link because of skill issue. Let's face it, outside of challenge runs Zelda games are super easy.
Even the original by NES standards was a pretty easy game once you understood its mechanics.
Adventure of Link is hated because it's the only Zelda game that actually poses any real challenge. The game is hard because that's how games were back then.
LoZ is "only 2 hours long" if you use a guide and know where to go.
The whole point of the game is exploration. I spent hours exploring Hyrule on NES as a kid.
A casual no guide playthrough by an experienced gamer will still take at least 8-10 hours. It's also a pretty challenging game compared to the rest of the series and you're gonna die quite a few times.
Breath of the wild felt abit empty and repetitive and boring. I prefer the old style 3d Zelda like Ocarina.

I would put MM in SS personally and would have had no F tier games even if you wanted to say AoL was d-, but putting it in F tier suggests it was a failure and if you want to stay consistent with “a bad Zelda game is still a good video game” I feel you can’t have an F tier game! Other than those nitpicks solid list!

I’m sure I’m biased, since I was a young teen in the early 90s, but… Link to the Past needs to go on it’s own “Quadruple S” tier. I just finished playing a bit of Ocarina now, and I miss Link to the Past already.
I tried playing Zelda 2 for the NES the other day. It’s impossible. The game is awful. To play it, you need a nostalgic component that is very personal. Otherwise, don’t try it.
If you think about the timeline of Zelda then you have to put Ocarina of time on top. That is where the timeline split. So if you don't have OOT you don't have a lot of Zelada games.
