epic started off wrong with exclusive titles, in fact that made me absolutely hate EGS, never install it or use. please stop covering ESG "deals", no one cares. I know ppl that log in for free games, but never use them, never buy on epic or use epic for anything other then getting free games they never use. meanwhile steam is nearly at 40 million users, still allowing reviews, still providing refunds and anyone avoiding steam have something to hide (i.e. EFT). Put EFT on steam and watch it blow up with P2W reviews that YT's wont talk about.
1:32 meanwhile there's people like me, and i'm sure many others, who would rather wait a full year to play a game on Steam than giving any money to EGS
Only thing they have I want is Alan wake 2..
What about GTA 6 coming only on consoles and not on PC?? PC crowed have to wait, what do you thing about that?
Me sitting and eating popcorn with my 309 free games on the EGS lol
No mods workshop, that's an issue for epic.
So I got a bunch of free games from the epic game store and I claim them but I have never played them because I have a steamed deck and I use steam and it's just more convenient. So I really don't care about the epic game store. But I'm glad you know steam has some competition though. Even though it's not really competition.
Since launch i didnt bought single game from this store. Im proud of my comitment.
Edit: Also I keep forgeting that Kingdom Harts is on PC. Thanks Epic!
I never liked Epic's anti competition schemes ever since, even back then I honestly just downloaded Epic games to get my free GTA 5 back in the day. It's a place to get freebies once a week no one buys games on epic games store and they never will. If they do then too bad for them. 😅😅
Fck epic game store
I still login to Epic to get free games. But i haven't played any games on that platform for a very long time. I did tried control on epic when they gave it away for free. I still bought that game on Steam 😂 after playing a couple of hours in Epic.
The most thing that constant reminding me not to spent money on Epic is they keep sign me out every month or so automatically.
Dispise I open the app every week. Check keep sigh in box. They dont even remember my email. I have to type the whole thing everytime.
I've have bought from EPIC and GOG. And would happily do so again as I don't like monopolies. True steam does add value however I think competition is good both for players and developers.
I have an epic game store account but never used it I never liked my card or bank account to it.
Every single game I have on Epic I got for free. 🙂
This video will age like milk.
THEY THINK STEAM'LL DIE SOON? THAT'S HILARIOUS
I hate the launchers for most publishers. Since Ubisoft is trying to force me to use their crappy platform, I am just going to have to wait to get games I actually do want. So, if I decide to get the games at all, it will be on Steam and I will not touch them until they are on significant discount. The goal is to make them choose: let me purchase the game how I want and where I want at full price day one, or get far less money years in the future.
Metro Exodus was the only game I bought on Epic. Now I only use Epic for a gatcha game.
I remember Epic claiming that the profit % being better for the publisher in Epic Store would make games be able to sell cheaper without them losing money. Remember their first game selling for $50 and them claiming for that to be the norm in the future? Turns out the publishers are greedy rats who would just pocket the greater % instead of passing the savings on to the customers.
its funny the EGS thinks that getting exclusives would make me buy from them kingdom hearts i was willing to wait a year till it went on steam and as soon it hit steam i bought it day 1 bite me EGS
nobody can run a store front like gabe. microsoft, EA, ubisoft epic etc all tried and failed.
epic is losing so much money lol, randy is delulu
Until a recent update I was unable to get the launcher to login because for some reason they'd decided to swap the 2fa email system over to a captcha which was stuck in an infinite loop of failing correct responses. This meant that I couldn't access anything not already installed and the things that were installed wouldn't be updated. I've bought a couple of games tied to the launcher but mostly ubi titles that were cheaper in winter sales and give a code for uplay. Fortnite was bought for the save the world version and mysteriously vanished from my library completely with zero help from customer service to get it back or offer a refund. Hades was an impulse buy and I was going to wait for satisfactory but then the covid lockdowns started.
To me there's zero incentive to put money down on games if the launcher drm is a crappy webbrowser that prevents me from accessing games. And there's no excuse for epics effort being so poor given that every other publishers launcher platform could be used as a reference point for features and functionality.
Epic: b-but it worked for Microsoft! Why didn't paying for exclusives work for us?
This is why Sony and MS couldn't work together on cross platform back in the day regardless of which one of them offered (they both did at different times) they both stipulated that people from the other side had to sign up for accounts on their services to be able to play across company lines and neither side wanted to risk their exclusive users buying from the other side. they wanted to keep the walls up. Of course neither side seems to worry about Steam at first, except now MS doesn't care if you're on Live or not because you probably had to buy a windows PC (at least for a while) to play most steam games or have game pass now and Sony is pushing even PC players to sign up to PSN. I feel like the only reason any cross play exists is because of Steam.
To me i prefer EPIC 100 -1 vs Steam, dont really care what the world does, but if you want to AAA First Run TOP DOLLAR GAMES OPEN THE WALLET AND BANK AND THROW IT ON THE DESK< then Steam. CYA
Epic should instead focus on optimizing their dogshit engine especially since it is their only source of revenue beside Fartnite and they also trick many studios to use it with claims that it is the most optimized and accesible (which is quite the opposite, EU5 optimization is horrendous)
Only reasons I use epic games store is for free games every Thursday if it’s good 😂
I'm always using Playnite Game launcher
My steam, EPIC GS, Playstation, Xbox Game Pass, EA, Ubisoft, GOG and Itch account are all linked to Playnite plus the old classic game collections DRM free
I have collected 365 games for free on EGS
some of those 365 freebies are S tier games, a lot of A tier and even more B tier, and sht ton of garbage
it is amazing really, just get the free games each week and launch all of your games from one single launcher like Playnite or Lunch Box is another one, there are bunch of them.
Most of the time if it's a game I like to play I will be able to buy it on Steam on sale before it's free on Epic. I will play some this week free game Callisto Protocol but I wasn't planning on buying it anyways.
i just get the free games on epic, i don't trust them with my info, so i don't buy games there!
Steam & GOG for the Win
😁
Forgot FF16 existed, don't hear of it anymore. Hard pass for me.
Epic game store has had a few free games or a few exclusives that I really wanted but I still haven't signed up to the epic game store. I have no interest in ever signing up to the store.
I think i've only bought Control on the EGS, and that's only because i got a voucher at christmas, and it worked out cheaper than steam at the time, but other than that, nothing interests me on there tbh.
Not even epic App Store is not going to save them rocket league and other games need to surrender to launcher or make it better but nooooo epic is so blinded for anti consumer I am glad this is happening
