This was the first game I got for PS5 it was one of the reasons I got it and I enjoy this game, but I skipped the last gen so that may make a difference cause everything wows me about this gen. I'm from NY State originally so Frey really didn't bother me personality wise in fact I like her.
Weird comparison, but the combat system feels like 3D CrossCode combat. Dodging, mix of melee and ranged combat, 4 elemental stances with unique moves/playstyle for each, etc.

I loved this game 😌 minus that god awful storytelling and pacing. I don't even know how they didn't iron out the awkward pauses and bullshit animations because there r genuinely good animations in many places 😬 atleast in the main story beats they could've made them equally good. You never know if the next cutscene will have good facial animations or will they fix their facial features in place with a hammer and a nail.

I am sorry but the combat has been done basically the same somewhat like 10 years ago in the Infamous game series, just looks better in forspoken but I can see where you're coming from, great review
Made the mistake of getting the game at launch and suffering for about five hours. The combat was good and the world’s lore (not the lore itself) was really interesting.
But as you said, everything surrounding it was just absolute diarrhea.
To put this in context, Forspoken is almost the opposite of Final Fantasy 15 (coincidentally the made by the same team and company). FF15 is “good” in the majority of the playtime until the end with few annoying things along the way and a story that’s not in the way. Forspoken doesn’t shut up both literally and figuratively and the gameplay has a curve (an enjoyable curve sure but that just makes the game so much harder to like). I might do what I did with FF15 and give it a go later on down the line but for now… Thank god for FF16

Ok… I beat Forespoken soon after its release. I would say that the best part is how cool the combat looks. I do have to say, I pre-ordered the game like two years before it released completely because of how cool it looked, and to be honest, I finished it for only the same reason… although the last big battle where you are basically a god was pretty cool… for the one and a half hours that it lasted.
Also if that combat is fantastic I would love to see your reaction to games like For Honor and other such games, possibly Wizard of Legend???

I love this game, doesn't deserve the hate. No one wants to admit it…but the beginning of Red Dead Redemption 2 was just as slow as the start of this game, it's story was just better. I don't think the story of Forspoken is even bad in the beginning, I liked Homer.

The only thing that was a W for wokespoken was the option to refund after 2 hours, and even that was all due to steam being awesome and give us the option.
Games like this one don't deserve a single ounce of attention by anyone and especially from a 1.25 m subs channel. We don't need more of this crap. Just let it die.
