Man the algorithm is not what it used to be. I would get your vids suggested daily. I watched another reviewer, one time and now i get suggested only other reviewers and youtube doesnt even send me the notifications anymore when you post! Luckily i just know to come to your page
“Black Myth: Wukong” feels like an ambitious nod to classic action games like “God of War I” on the PlayStation 2, but with significantly upgraded graphics. While the visual fidelity is stunning, bringing the mythical world of the game to life with intricate details and fluid animations, the gameplay and narrative structure fall short. The story is linear, much like “God of War I.”The game seems to lack the branching paths or alternate endings that could encourage multiple playthroughs. Once the credits roll, there’s little reason to dive back in, making the experience enjoyable but ultimately forgettable.
I’m also puzzled by the comparisons some people have drawn between “Black Myth: Wukong” and games from FromSoftware. While both may share a mythical or dark fantasy theme, the gameplay mechanics, narrative style, and overall experience are quite different. “Black Myth: Wukong” feels more like a traditional action game, with straightforward combat and progression, lacking the intricate level design, deep lore, and challenging combat that define FromSoftware titles. The comparison seems misplaced, as “Black Myth: Wukong” leans more towards a visually impressive, yet linear, action experience rather than the nuanced and demanding journeys found in FromSoftware’s catalog.
I like this. Thank you
The game is approaching being released for only 88 hours. Mort is around 50 hours time played according to steam AND put out 4 videos since launch. What a mad lad. Kudos man, you’re doing the impossible.
Game looks gorgeous. Can’t wait to get it a shot. Thanks Mort!
I don't like it way too souls like for me. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew.
I'm so glad to see you are covering this game! I was really interested in your opinion of it.
playing this with KBM controls is crazy
Runs surprisingly well on the steam deck, your not gonna get 60 fps and high end settings but it plays well enough to enjoy it
Picked it up last night and am loving the hell out of it!
The most overrated game I've ever played
I wish so badly not to suck at these types of games, but I think I was better at Elden Ring. It took me 20 attempts at the first boss after the intro.
Just about to start this on PS5 thanks for the tips.
I'm not sure if black myth: wakanda is a good game but it's probably the only new thing in a while that's decent enough to play so it's breaking records. Looks like a one and done playthrough that most people should play and beat when the prices gets cut in half.
The one and only reviewer I trust! Keep up the incredible work❤
A good portion of dragon ball fans are finally discovering that Goku is based on Wukong. It's so funny seeing some's people first reaction be "He is just like goku" lol
Soooooooo f*** done with those FromSoftware clones called "sOUls liKE". Imagine if this game was full Hack ´n´ Slash, with Dynast Warriors elements on it… But no, they need to make it "just like dark souls", dodge dodge an attack, then dodge and dodge again…
Can't wait for this trend to go away and we get new things.
Turns out its a good video game. That respects the players money and time.
Do you ever fight enemies that are not giants? I’m trying to get a feel for this game. Is like Tomb Raider where you face troops of soldiers, solve puzzles, and acquire items to move the plot forward?
Every combat clip that I’ve seen is the monkey dude against some giant monster.
Ugh… Nope. Any game that utilizes a roll dodge mechanic, I pass.
my mom, whose grandma is chinese, grew up with wukong. She never played a videogame and now she asked me what to do to play this one 😀
I'm knee deep in a Demon Wotr run. So it's gonna be fun teasing myself in which vids of yours to watch about this game lol
Peple who are suprised by steam sales ,need to take into consideration that this is first Chinese AAA game, and it has asiian mythology ,that is like 2 blilion people market
This is a great news!
Thanks for another great video.!just wish they had physical disc because i live in rural area
Can wait for you to be the first one to 100% this one
Seem like everyone else is strugling with the hidden secrets
I'm having a blast with it so far… the RPG mechanics are fun and the action is hell'a fun..
liked before watching, not out of fanboysm over the game, but because whether you liked it or not, there are few oppinions i respect more than yours. loking forward to your post 100% if you do one, gl hf.
Having a great time playing this gem
The game is good. It reminds me most of Jedi Fallen Order with the more linear levels and the skill tree. Even the way you gain skill points and spend them is similar. Very beautiful game, even on my RTX 3070. The cinematics and item descriptions really have a lot of flavor. The animated cut scene at the end of Chapter 1 was particularly cool. A LOT of fun bosses. The game hasn't been particularly hard so far other than one early boss.
Game looks great, and I know there's probably way more care given to the story since it's coming from a Chinese studio, but I'm just so burned out on Journey to the West games.
I don't know how well it carries over to the game, but the benchmark tool averaged 45 fps on Steam Deck with the low preset.
I’m so happy we get a flippy character with a staff. Not enough of those styles of combat in games. I wish he could pole vault into the air like with Monster Hunter’s Kinsect Glaive though, that move is amazing.
The GOAT!!!! 🐐 He’s the GOAT! 🐐
This the Chinese version of God of War
