AREA 51 IS MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME AND MOST UNDERRATED GAME ON THE XBOX AND PS2 😃😃😃
So I played the game via emulation on my Galaxy S24 Ultra on Nethersx2 v1.9 and honestly it was good but very basic. On the technical aspect it had decent gun play for the time where FPS didn't have the controls of call of duty like every modern shooter has. The game was too long for what it offered. It was repetitive with the same enemies popping up for you to shoot. But the story was almost non-existent. Almost as if there was a bigger story but was cut out of the game and the vast majority of the high quality CGI and character development is left in secrets or extras. There's no character development exempt for the main character and it's the bare minimum. Everyone else is expendable and everyone you meet basically just die when they barely started getting character development. Overall fun generic repetitive FPS game. But little to no story and there's little to no pay off to the things that were set up.

It's sad that an actual sequel was tanked because the lead instead wanted to make a political statement about Iraq etc

Lovecraft did not strike gold in his time. He lived a life of poverty (in part due to pride, in part due to anxiety) and died without knowing how his work ended up influencing pop culture. Calling him a mediocre writer is a valid criticism, but obviously, like, your opinion, man.
His real accomplishment was his prodigious correspondence. He wrote stupid amounts of letters, and as a result had a tremendous influence on so many people. They are the ones who promoted his work and his memory after he was gone. It is ironic that one who had so many prejudicial beliefs was also so good at making friends. He's pitiable because he never understood that contradiction within himself.

Love the OG acade game. Used to go to an acrade where it had some sort of glitch registering quarters. Pop in one and a bunch of plays would show up. Fun times. Half the time it had plays left waiting.

I never heard of the Area series, but if it got 51 entries it must be a really successful, if niche, franchise. I'd be interested to see if Area 51 is substantially different from Area or Area 2, or did it largely find a successful formula that it kept up over 51 games?
