9 years later, The Last of Us gameplay still holds up well, despite the fact that improvements could have been made. It’s gory …

Should have just been a 10$ upgrade for people that already bought the remaster
I've never played the game until today and here's my honest review:
Pros:
– Gorgeous game
– In depth character development
Cons:
– Moves on very, very tight rails
– AI might have been "updated" but it's still absolutely stupid.
– Game doesn't like it when you kill soldiers with M4s so makes the M4s disappear
– As immersive as it may feel on one end due to amazing writing, that immersion is completely shattered by the rails the game moves on; the guns disappearing; doors remaining open behind you while you try to evade Fedra etc… Those details really fuck the experience up.
Despite what most people may think, I honestly find the show better than the game. Sorry folks, this game could've been so much better if the devs had paid attention to details.
This game is for newcomers not ogs
Price is still to high
Regarding the 37s mark.. what other games changed the industry?
Doom,
Street-Fighter
Myst
Tetris
Tomb Raider
The Sims / Civilization
Portal
World-Of-Warcraft
Grand-Theft-Auto
Red Dead Redemption
Halo / Tom Clancy Stealth Series
Friday Night at Freddys
Call Of Duty
Hitman
Silent-Hill
Last Of Us
Fortnite
Batman: Arkham City
I got the remaster on subscription so paying $50 for the ps5 version on sale is well worth it imo.
Once it goes on sale, £20 or £30 I'll get it, there is no way I am paying £65 for a game that I have played like 5 times.
Now this is a remake absolutely 9 out of 10 five star this is what I've been looking for not the stupid remastered version this is my day WOOOOOO good job naughty dog 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plus with infinite ammo too and infinite crafting Fuck Yeah!🤯👍🏻
I dont really understand this? Why do reviewers do this? They take a remake of a game, review the old game and then add that it looks pretty. No sh*t Sherlock. The same happened when reviewers did reviews of Warcraft 3 Reforged for example… For example as the reviewers said himself, FF14 and RE had much more thorough Reworks, but this game should not have updated gameplay because it was done in an era of where 3D games had already better style of gameplay? Oh Really Mr. Reviewer, by that Logic Doom 2016 and 2021 Should look similar to each other and also basically the same as Doom 1993. You do realize they are basically remakes right? And Doom 1993 had a revolutionary gameplay at that time… What the f*ck kind of reasoning is that? Should the Demon Souls game not have Exactly the same gameplay? I mean its souls like game, is there any more revolutionary style of gameplay? And it is a Total Remake… How dare they update the gameplay? What? For Christ sake this game is a half of a product for 80 Euros but asking for a total Update is too much? So it is a graphical update of the old game, the old game is a 9/10 sure, but you are not reviewing the old game, you are reviewing a REMAKE!!!! This remake does not deserve a 9/10, the game it is based on, the old version does. The remake alone, in a vacuum deserves some 6/10 You can be generous and combine to some 7/10 at maximum.
What pisses me off the most and I mean it the most is the Fact that enemies on grounded difficulty use dodge against you! And you cant use it against them! That is absolute shit and the RNG involved in grounded difficulty is ridiculous! I am extremely disappointed!!! Enemies can dodge but Joel can’t…
I only bought this as a gift for my daughter, because she always wanted to try the original but she was a bit too young. She absolutely loves this, and I sat with her for a handful of bits and kept wanting to say…this is the exact same game I already own. I already knew it was but I can't believe I seriously bought this when I could've just given her mine. There is almost no difference other than slightly better graphics. Pointless remake.
This guy is clearly in playstation pocket. It is absolutely not worth 70 dollars
If Naughty Dog did this sort of remake to the Nathan Drake collection, they would have gotten my 70 dollars
I paid the 70. No regrets. But def wait for sale.
What's the point? Unless….
The Last of Us Part 2 (Remake):
"Joel?! You're not dead?"
The 2014 ps4 release did not have updated graphics. Just 1080p with 60fps. The assets and textures are identical to ps3
Ahhh ok no wonder I couldn't find it , it's for PS5 😭
A polished game that has original, remastered & now remake is not worth $70. But, I’ll save it for the new God of War 😅
Hard to remake perfection 🎮 #JakeHunter88
Pick this up when goes for around 20
I’ve played the original, remastered and now I’ve played the Remake. I love the Remake! It look great and plays great on performance mode on my LG C1 📺. The best part I really love is that once you have beat the game. You can unlock unlimited ammo, melee weapons and more! I’m trying to hurry up and beat it now. Great review, Gaming Bolt.
They didn’t remake shit they didn’t rebuild anything it’s a remastered game that has been remastered before
I really hope most people wise up and hold off on buying the game and wait until it goes on sale. That would teach a lesson to Naughtydog and Sony about disrespecting their consumers like this.
too expensive
I wonder if all the voice actors got paid again for this “remake” more like a remastered remaster
nothing on haptics anywhere really apart from how good the audio is used through haptics for the deaf. This is great but in terms of controls, the haptic is a missed opportunity as he says here, it makes little difference. That's disappointing. I'll wait for a price drop.
Here’s an advice who wants to play this
Wait when it’s free on PlayStation plus
If upgrading ucharted 4 and lost legacy to ps5 version by paying money wasn't bad enough for bare minimal visual upgrades. Last of us remake is a day light robbery.
just wait till ps6. They will once again remake this game by adding ray tracing and variable 8k resolution. Sure we are not forced to buy it. But even an attempt at robbery is a bad sign for what may follow in future.
The PS5 version is simply amazing 👏🏻
I just triple dipped this game and have no regrets. I’m all for supporting NG.
Comments just full of people coping
I had 112$ saved on my psn so i said why not and i bought this lets how it goes 😁
I have around 350 hours in the remastered version. I’m still getting this day one
what about Left Behind DLC ? is it implemented into the main game story or chosen from menu like in original and remaster versions ????
Ff7 remake is not a remake
Stop lying to people, it's a sequel/reboot
With all due respect its not worth the 70$ to play the same exact game but with better graphics and it does not even have the multiplayer like the old one
I’ve never played this, might be good time to pick it up
Low res textures? Trash
Sony is charging more for this remake than they did when the game came out as an original game back in 2013 and this remake is more than the price Last of Us part 2 was sold for! Both of those being original with way more work being done to them. I’d rather pay full price for a brand new game/story like God of War Ragnarok.
I won’t argue the masterpiece that last of us is but the asking price for this remake makes it only a recommendation for first time players or those that will come after the HBO series which is great for them but this could’ve been an EASY recommendation to EVERYONE if the asking price from Sony/Naughty Dog was $40, maybe $50. This remake looks awesome but improved graphics and mainly quality of life improvements don’t justify a full new game price of $70.
I just dont get the point of the price, 4k upgrade is not worth $70. They should have done what they have been doing since ps5 launch free or the $10 ps5 upgrade.it worries me because whats next to get the ps5 "$70 remaster" we know the ps5 bloodborne remaster is coming and that will be $70 but 60 fps upgrade will be worth it to the fans but this one is not worth the price tag. I think more ps5 $70 remasters are on the way. Greedy Greedy Sony.
This is such an enormous rip off
I give them 700 dollars for support game I love and at least I pay 2000 dollar for limited edition and figures
And remake is awesome
This looks the same as it did on ps4…
A very rational take on the console industry. As someone who predominately plays Sony, but doesn't buy into "console wars" I appreciated this video, sir .
Should go down as one of the worst "remakes" ever with zero actual new content and visuals that aren't dramatically upgraded. This is what happens when you are simply trying to keep your employees "busy"….
I honestly hope that the ps4 version gets a ps5 upgrade option so that I don't have to waste $70 on game.
Not really a final verdict because future patches.
Not worth $70 at all overpriced and adds nothing new in gameplay same game.
The thing is, I was happy to buy TLOU Remastered because it was cheaper than a full new release and i was happy to pay full price for RE2 Remake because it brought a whole new game to the table.. This at minimum needed the updated gameplay mechanics from part 2 and maybe some slight changes to the areas to utilise the mechanics and bring more to the experience. Otherwise it falls somewhere in the middle, but you are basically talking about the same game with a new coat of paint.
It just feels like now i have seen the footage of the game on here, i cant fully justify buying it because i can have the exact same core gameplay experience with the ps4 remastered version.
I'm not even going to compare the pricing to masterpieces like Elden ring, but how is this priced the same as tlou2, I can't help but feel the publishers are trying to take advantage of the fans, making them pay premium prices and then the same game will be half the price within 2 months. As someone who enjoyed tlou2 and tlou, this pricing seems very unfair.
