As someone who has no experience with the Anime or previous game, I thought it was alright. I started the game on hard difficulty from the jump. Sometimes it was frustrating because I didn't have moves to better handle the situation. Other times it felt pretty badass. Believe it or not you kind of need to have a plan for the enemy waves…on hard anyways. Agree with you on level design. Very linear, no reason to explore, nothing to find, no advantage to gain. Just follow the arrow.
Yeah i feel like this is exactly what the old school fans wanted…. and i can respect that the devs delivered it

Too old school is not the right word per se for this game as it was originally not so good from the start on PS2 either. Just compare it with MAX PAYNE and old school shooter similar to this and you will know the difference.

This game is amazing fun that devs don't bother trying to give us anymore. Not perfect, sure but almost every game isn't. Gungrave Gore is pure dumb fun, and I adore it.
@5:07 I'm gonna go ahead and venture a guess, seeing as how you're playing,most likely the PC version, if not the Series X version, that perhaps the developers had the PS5 Dualsense in mind as they developed it. One would have to play the PS5 version to know, but I would assume it could have to do with the haptics and the tension triggers
I really like it, I really just like playing it and feels arcade like which is what I want along with being stylish
This game is so fucken fun what it's hated because it's not a big open world with pointless fetch quest and npcs like robots or no deep character arcs who give a shit this is literally gaming pure fun and action and I gotta say graves is one of my new favourites characters from the games and anime
I've been playing this so far and I'm really enjoying it. It took me a minute to get the hang of the controls but after that I'm really liking it. I gotta get past that part with the crane though. That's kinda tough
U can change the shooting from single-fire to auto so u don't have to constantly shoot and wear ur hands out…I think it should've offered collectibles to give u reasons to look around a bit

The animation looks a little bland compared to the original. I remember Grave jumping around while firing those weapons off it was insane fun. But to be honest I never even knew there was a story I just wanted to go head first into a bullet meat grinder and shoot the crp out of everything. Il pick this up. I couldnt care less about story psh.

The real problem is gamers being noob and expecting easy games. In the end, y'all noobs are just hatin'. Go back to playing Runescape or buy a pair of glasses.
There must of been an update because there is most definitely a full auto mode for the pistols
I have watched a couple of reviews. The biggest complaint I have seen is that the gameplay is outdated. They stuck with the original Gungrave formula and people don't like it. I personally think people are spoiled when it comes to games nowadays. Gungrave GORE looks like a better version of the old games. I played the original and found my self wishing there were more mechanics and this game looks like it added just that.
I was enjoying this game until the later stages. The enemies just become too cheap so many frustrating deaths and the checkpoint system isn't the best.
I really enjoyed the Anime and PS2 game back in its day and even the PSVR game was good. This review details exactly my issues with the game plus the enemies become bullet sponges in the later levels. I was looking forward to this game but it has been a let down.
I’d definitely gonna play this game. It’s nice that they bring back Gungrave back to,but at what cost.
