I compare doing a “show” like theater. Look at standup artists. If 1 person shows up the show is the same as if 300 showed up. You keep at it till word gets around. And people LOVE to gossip. So good bad or indifferent words will travel.
I haven’t sold a piece since July, I’m still in the game. Just trying new ways of showing my work that I haven’t tried before
Best advice ever! Just enjoy the process and learn
Can you do a show by yourself? As I don’t have a partner
Boy, you and Klee are such honest genuine people and we truly appreciate your help and support for other artists!!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 with good useful information 😀
Can't wait to come to visit Oil City and see your studio!
I love talking about my art because just as you say Rafi my art is a part of me, there is an emotional attachment to every single piece of art I paint, I'll go as far to say; I have stepped away from my table/easel and turn around and looked back at my work and there have been times when tears will come to my eyes. No one will understand that unless it has happened to them. It isn't every piece but when it does it gives me the drive to continue, it is my satisfaction that I have created something from my heart, it is a part of me. So, when I go to shows I spend so much time bringing that sensation to life I lose the concept that I am there to sell art, so much so when someone says the me "I'll take that one or these two" that it takes me a second for it to sink in… "hey this person just bought a piece of my art" how about that!!! When I promote my shows on FB I usually say come by my booth and let's talk art!! Love your videos, thanks for the time you spend in front of the camera… and writing your books. Later!!
realest peeps on the tube <3
Ya I think I went on 8 straight FL shows 0 sales. Well, drove me back to corp life. UGH! Oh well, on to the next shows I guess.
Your sake was a housewarming!
That’s the problem with art competitions – somebody wins and somebody doesn’t and you are competing against other artists and it’s only one persons opinion one day and that can completely discourage people and take the joy out of doing art!! No rant here!
It was good to see how you did the show….it would also be good and even helpful to see how you set things up behind the scenes…computer programs used….ect for non tech savvy newbies….love you guys…you both rock
Totally loved the video, I really like your house, the art and you. I really felt like you invited me in to your life. I love making art, I am pretty new to it. I will be watching and learning from you in the future.
This is a GREAT idea. You guys are the best! Excellent tour of your spaces looks awesome. You both gives me so much confidence and I totally agree, I do not think of competition. I respect all art work and I show it. Great idea on creating to create. I just get into my head I need an income. I just need to put myself out there and have fun. Thank you again 💓
Welcome to Oil City. I am another artist transplant here. I moved here in 2019 after having.lived here…in Seneca, actually…in 2016. The pandemic swept my feet out from under me. I would like to do more online but it hasn't happened yet. Anyway, I hope we can meet one day.
I have been watching this for way too long and not acting on it. My art has never been exhibited…and you guys have just given me the final push to do it. Sep of this year I am going to have my first show. whether you read this or not…I will share it with you guys (somehow). Yep.
Love these thoughts
I think it’s such a good point you make about money, it’s not the point, not really at the end it is when you see the numbers but the connections you make selling your art, the experience is so much more important to me. If the customer gets it or has an experience noteworthy. It really is the journey not the destination. Thank you.
I really enjoy your newest video. You two artist are inspirational and heart warming. Please do more videos like this.
You both encourage me greatly. Been feeling like giving up on art. Granted, me and my family have had a lot of deaths this year and one was my mother who I took care of in my home for years. Not in the best mindset during the holiday. However, what you said made so much sense and as usual you two encouraged me. Thanl you for being such a beacon of light. <3
Yeah, it was a great party! Good thing you didn't have to feed us! 😉❤️
It was a wonderful show! Fantastic art and a lot of fun!
all the art looks wonderful hung on the walls! 😀
competition amongst all of us at uni was big, too any type of joy away from it sadly
Thanks Rafi, that was really helpful. I am wanting to do a virtual sale and am terrified!! You all make it look easy. I appreciate your honesty on the sales. Good tips to remember to show up to have fun and talk about art. Don't focus on the $$. Thank you Rafi and Klee!!
Great video note you guys have 28000subs now and also followers on FB,IG so you don’t have to do a lot of promo for a show , but of course it took you guys years to get to this point!!Congrats Rafi and Klee !
Hi Rafi and Klee do you have an address yet that we can send mail to you at?
Was so so fun! Hope you are feeling better!
Thank you for opening up your home and art gallery. A beautiful event experienced across the 🌎🌍🌏. Always inspirational, honest and insightful 🙏
What a great idea! And great tips on what attitude to have! I will have to try it! Thanks!
I was hoping that I could see the Virtual Gallery but I couldn't go at the time you held it. I don't see a recording of it. Will you post it somewhere? Good to see you back on this channel. 🙂
The Rogues are the best!! Always so much fun on any livestream 💗
Terrific mindset tips to make every show a great one. Thanks. (And I love your new house.)
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, Rafi! Your forward & independent thinking is very appreciated. I'm so grateful for your encouragement. Aaaaand I'm grateful Klee grew comfortable on camera 🙂 Goofy girls unite!!!
It was awesome seeing you both on camera again and settled in the Sunflower house! Your set up on your art livestream was so inspiring! Your first livestream I remember got me inspired to try to host my own online. Last month I had my very first art sale liveatream which was a bit bumbling but it got done!
I can't wait to see your other endeavors and adventures!
