In this video, I go over my design process for creating a new town for Chef RPG, an open world pixel art game. Wishlist Chef RPG …

귀엽다
I'm Japanese, and this is a picture of a Japanese fish market.
The basic element of a Japanese fish market is a large amount of ice squares of a few centimeters (roughly one inch) in diameter.
This is to keep the fish fresh.
ice is the main identity of a fish market, so you might as well draw ice!
Lots of lanterns are usually orange, except in some tourist-oriented areas in Asia.
Re-watching some of these old Dev logs in anticipation for the release. Guys😭 so much work has gone into this game, I’m so excited and so proud
wishlisted, i love your videos dude, you’re an inspiration to me and many
cool
I'm still waiting for your game to come out 😊
I'm making a game, on a modern city with tall buildings, and I've been struggling with that dead space behind buildings for the past month.
Sure, a small house can be forgiven, and you can even add secrets there, but a tall building can obscure much more than a couple tiles.
Your video gave me many ideas as to how restructure the map layout to deal with that, thanks!
OMG! As an Architect who loves to play video games, this is my dream, to be involved in making a game or make a game myself. You are inspiring me so much! Hope I can make a game too, someday.
Would you consider making a video explaining how you import a large scene like that into Unity correctly? I just started with game development and I created a scene in Aseprite but I really struggle on how to get everything into Unity in a good way. It kind of feels wrong to try making it into a hard tilemap especially with the tree shadows and everything. I'm not sure if it's necessary to basically rebuild my entire Aseprite file via tiles in Unity or if there's a more flexible approach to it.
Any help is appreciated! Aside from that I love how you combine your architectural knowledge with level design!!
What shoftware are you using for pixel art graphic?
Interesting to see how you actually transfer this INTO the game engine!! Exactly what I wanted to see at the end.
I love this!!! Thank you so much, very interesting and inspiring video:D
What app are you using to draw?
This is how someone make art.
Hey Noah, I really appreciate and admire your approach to architecture and game design. What would be one way to learn coding? I have a similar interest to yours and wanted some insight on where to go! Thanks and look forward to your progress on Chef RPG!!
smoothest and supre compheensive 👏👏👏👏
Yeah you definitely don't want to have a lot of deadspace, cause it's supposed to be a casual game.
man i wish it was more solar punk than cyber punk, just out of personal preference with the "old country side combined with tech" i'd love to see how technology isn't blaring or looked with disdain but with novelty and enhancement like san fransokyo from big hero 6 as an example
This inspire me to make my own relaxing open world pixel games where I can explore my game world. But the Only problem is. I don't know how to code. Im just an artist. The only thing I'm good at is to draw characters and animate.
This video's gonna make me cry dude I'd do anything to live in a place like thisss
how do u code this?
anybody knows size of map in pixels?
Very Earthbound! Love it! Keep it up!
Do you use mouse making this or stylus?
Hey, anyone more experienced can help me? I wish to know if Its better to draw the whole city map in one archive or Do i draw all the houses and than can cut and paste? I have no idea how to begin. Another doubt is How do I know my resolution? Can i expand the map on aseprite after it is already created?
Your Art style is amazing!
I have always wondered, what is your process of importing your assets into the game? It seems like you make everything in the scene and don't use tilemaps. How do you import these maps into the game engine? Do you separate out every piece of item you like from the art you just created or do you redo everything in a more "separate", modular way where all the objects are segregated? Please make a video about it 🙂
really amazing work! by the way, did you set up different shadow sprites based on the current in game time (day/night)?
This can be export to RPG maker MV/MZ????
I AM READY I AM READY NOW FOR THIS
Awesome and incredible work… I'm a achitect too and I've been slowly trying to enter the game dev industry. Thanks for the inspiration!
@2:45 Watching this, I was like YEAH BOSTON WOOO! Then your accurate comment about it being a too large public space made my soul hurt. Cuz again, accurate.
Can someone tell me which game is in the video 3:08
Hey, I want to create a top down, pixel art game..
If I make an art like yours for example, which has stairs, doors and etc.. how do I put this "image" of the art in unity. And how do I make my character interact with objects and climb stairs… why is it an image… and this is my question! How will my character interact with something that is already in the image.. would I have to separate the object from the image?
Could you make a tutorial explaining please? Of course, if you have time.
