Samsung’s Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are expected to be unveiled in January, and they are currently on a very slow march through various regulatory authorities across the world, receiving certifications.
The 3C certification in China has today revealed a pretty disappointing fact. Both of these phones will have the exact same maximum charging levels as their predecessors.
So, the Galaxy S25 will charge at up to 25W, while the Galaxy S25+ will go up to 45W. That’s via USB-C, of course. Wireless charging speed isn’t revealed through the 3C certification unfortunately, so we’ll have to keep on waiting for those details to be confirmed.
In the meantime, we have yet another area of stagnation for Samsung’s flagship smartphone line – the design of the S25 and S25+ being a very obvious other example of this, both phones looking almost identical to the Galaxy S24 and S24+. Clearly then, the S25 and S25+ will focus on refinements and won’t aim to revolutionize the market in any way.
