the world upside down right now that why people just go insane
because of WAR
The issue is with the mainstream journalist. Channels like Gameranx with their series "Before yor buy" is the only thing I can somewhat trust. Most west, left winged journlist? 😀 Yeah I am good
I just ignore games journalism and look to have fun. That's what games are about.
I'd generally rather hear the thoughts of other regular players in Steam reviews and forums than read what a journalist wrote about a game. I'm not invested in this particular game's drama as I don't really play AAA games. Steam's genre tags, reading a few reviews, gameplay trailer(s), and a quick dive into the discussions usually paints a decent picture. I'll sometimes post in the discussions to ask specific questions (e.g. what are the default controls, can you rebind them, do you need analog sticks, does it maintain 60fps on Steam Deck) about games before getting them as well. We have a lot more resources and bigger communities to instantly talk to than in the days of video game magazines being more relevant I think.
2min into the video i realised that oh that's eposvox I am watching XD
was wondering why I have subscribed to t his guy
But I want this game to go well cause Chinese studio are well know to copy paste most games from west cause copyright laws in china but if this goes well the energy that went into copying a game can be channeled into making good better games which west likes as well
I basically agree with everything you said frfr. I do want to add that, probably since gamergate 1.0, possibly earlier, there have been shitty ppl who use gaming, tech, and nerd media to onboard other potentially shitty ppl to very dangerous, extremely fascist views.
it's very evident if you watch certain stuff on youtube, like gaming stuff, anime stuff, sprinkle a little "what's japan like?" in there, and then all of a sudden you're being recommended stuff from some weird ass person that hates everyone that's not like them (I feel like I don't need to go into deets about that lol).
so what we're dealing with is literally a bunch of rabble rousers who want to recruit particularly young, usually white (but not always), cisgender, heterosexual men and boys to horrible stuff. they don't care about the games, but they know they can get to those ppl who are susceptible to this particular type of influence if they blame the state of gaming on "dei" or "sweet baby" or whatever fuckshit dogwhistle they're using.
imo, what makes this hard to deal with is that gaming in it's current state is largely an online focused medium, and that space is easily manipulated by things like bots on social media. they can organize and easily dogpile ppl that they would hate regardless of their opinion on whatever game/movie/comic book/etc, and can do so with relative anonymity. and platforms like twitter have facilitated this b/c they understand it works, and b/c I Strongly Believe the current owner of twitter fully supports this shit. this is why there was that awful ass situation on twitch a few years back.
most people aren't immediately the kind to seig heil outright frfr, because they know at minimum it's not socially acceptable to be an open nazi… unless they were raised in that kind of environment. they have to be conditioned to be more comfortable to say a little slur, do a racism, and ultimately get to the point where they are storming a government facility, or committing other atrocious acts of violence, and it's happening in broad daylight within games and anime, with the focus largely being built around "woke journalists" and "woke translators."
a lot of people wanted to blame columbine explicitly on bullying and goth music lol, but it's documented that they were whole ass neo nazis, and that's why nobody liked their weird asses. it's a real problem that has to be addressed, and as long as companies continue to appeal to their bullshit, it's not going to stop because they feel like they can "win" this "war," that exists solely in their imaginations, but is still dangerous b/c they are causing actual harm.
sorry I wrote so much, and it's not even that I don't think you specifically don't know this stuff, but I wanted to at least say it for ppl that maybe don't understand the full extent of what's happening. this is why you have to take stands against this shit publicly and consistently. and it's frustrating af b/c tbqmfh I would really like to just enjoy my gd game.
the people that are behind this don't even think gaming is a proper masculine thing to do, lol. they would not support folks engaging in "foreign" media by east asian companies. however, they will use whatever means are available to push their shitty agendas, and gaming is an incredibly convenient trojan horse for them at the moment.
People don't want to hear other peoples opinions, they want their thoughts coming out of other peoples mouths. And if they reviewer says anything not what the "Gamers" are already feeling, it's the press's fault.
Well said.
Talking about TotalBiscuit, I think we are still dealing with the fall out from the toxic mess that was gamergate. From what I remember from back than, depending on what youtube channels you watched, it felt like the journalist hated the gamers and would stop at nothing to destroy them.
Still need to see the video, and I hope you approach this, but a huge reason why I'm considering not buying the game is the company and companypeople being generally hugely sexist and "anti-woke" (read: crazy and weird).
