The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 lineup is here, and while the lineup looks different due to the lack of one model, the tablets themselves are quite similar to their predecessors. Samsung today announced the S10+ and S10 Ultra tablets, along with the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone, but there’s no S10 base model.

While rumors about Samsung cutting the S series base model tablet swirled for months before today’s launch, the company hadn’t confirmed this was the case until its glaring absence made it clear.

Samsung held a short “AI for all of us” launch event to unveil the new Galaxy S10+ and S10 Ultra tablets. These tablets feature Galaxy AI and Android 14 out of the box and boast a snappier performance. Samsung eliminated the 11-inch option, meaning the two tablets are available in 12.4-inch and 14.6-inch sizes.
What’s different about the new Galaxy Tabs?
The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra feature a new chipset. They’re now powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 processors, which compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and even outperform it on some benchmark tests.
Although the MediaTek performs better than the Snapdragon processor, it’s also cheaper for Samsung to use in its devices. This may be how the company is maintaining the same prices as last year for both tablets.

The new, faster MediaTek processor is built to handle Galaxy AI features, such as Circle to Search, Instant Translation, Handwriting Assist, Note Assist, and Sketch to Image, all made easier by the included S Pen.

While both models support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, Samsung is giving the Galaxy Tab S10+ Wi-Fi 6E support, while the S10 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7.
What’s the same with the new Galaxy Tabs?
Both tablets feature the same batteries as the previous models, 11,200 mAh for the S10 Ultra and 10,090 mAh for the S10+. Like the previous generation, fast charging at 45W is also available.
The new screens have an upgraded Anti-Reflection coating but remain powered by a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models have the same resolution as the previous models: 2960×1848 for the S10 Ultra and 2800×1752 for the S10+.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is priced at $1,200 for the cheapest variation (12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage). The price increases to $1,620 for the most expensive option (16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage).
The Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at $1,000 for the 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage option and goes up to $1,120 for the higher capacity option, which features 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Both tablets are available in two colors, Platinum Silver and Moonstone Gray. You can preorder them now, and they should start shipping on October 3.
