Wow this game is hot garbage glad I didn't waste money on it because I would have been so upset with myself for wasting cash on this trash im playing it through the catalog and did look forward to playing it when it came out than I got the chance to play it and was extremely disappointed and I wasn't even expecting it to be anywhere near as good as the Arkham games… who's bright idea was it to make a game set in the batman world where you play as the bar family and strip everything away that would make it good game I get it your not batman your his sidekicks but in the same instance you're playing as his sidekicks yet don't use or do really anything batman has or would have taught them like for example using a cape to glide only batgirl can do that for some reason we've literally seen in shows and comics that the bat family knows how to glide so they can travel faster but this game has one of the most stunted travel systems I've ever seen it's either bike on a slow motorcycle, slowly grapple from building to building but can't grapple to a building if it's more than 20 feet away and constantly run out of places to grapple to, or use a special jump that doesn't take you very far oh oh oh wait we can't forget gadgets oh wait sure seems like they did now there's poorly made an poorly implemented momentum abilities that do next to no damage all enemies are damage sponges because the game's ment to be played online yes because that's what everyone loves is online gaming it's not at all incredibly frustrating if you either don't have wifi or don't have a solid connection to the wifi you don't need to constantly fight with I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone that's a fan of the bar family because this is not a game that feels like a game ment for the bat family it feels like an open world beat em up I mean the only character that actually suits is Jason Todd and that's because he's Brasher than the others more hard headed he may be the second robin but is also the one with the least amount of influence from bats because of the whole Joker crowbar thing and Lazarus pit stuff that happens to the character so an open world beat em up makes sense for him but not the other three… Where's the common sense what happened to making good games it seems like almost every game that comes out is either BOR (broken on release) or absolute steaming piles of hot garbage like it's pretty bad you shouldn't need to do research into a game to find out whether or not it's A good and B works I wouldn't recommend anyone play it to be honest
Just playing it now, and it’s really disappointing. It looks good, but everything else is below mediocre, on the same level as Avengers
They added that dumb health bar for random bad guys which loses realism for me
Playing this in 2024, it’s not bad, but it is pretty repetitive with unnecessary RPG elements
Game was a solid 3.5/5. Only played arkhama city and asylum and I don't see why gotham knights gets the hate
Arkham combat was flawless because if the free flow combat system. It was skill based, not level based. The only way to play was to git gud. The thugs dialogue was genuinely funny "locked down tightee then my mom on prom night" that stories hilarious. The arkham series was a series of love letters, and arkham night especially was an epic, everything batfans wanted, needed, and loved from a game.
games are no longer made for the players. they are made purely for profit with the fun being an after thought.

I'll tell you what went wrong! The story isn't great, and it's not a Batman Beyond game
I think gotham knights was originally supposed to be a sequel to arkham knight but clearly someone wanted to ruin the game by downgrading the gameplay and changing the map.
They're definitely different game universes but they share so many similarities…
I intend to see gotham knights story but its got some obviously downgraded combat vs arkham series. Its weird seeing it especially since the combat of nightwing, Batgirl, robin were all better in arkham series and red hood was his own vigilante that didn't take prisoners.
Its alright though, maybe one day we get a true arkham knight sequel but it honestly is a decent end to batmans story. Just seems odd that we didn't get a batman beyond arkham game. Or even a rumor of it. Or a re use of the map with new characters… something… idk..
Ill say this though, arkham knight is so well done it partiwlly ruined other arkham games for me. Arkham origins was great minus that map change and slow gliding but it was year 2 batman… ig it makes sense
Arkham origins batsuit is the best arkham suit btw, arkham knight messed up making its belt gold.. ugh
its annoying that developers think players hate live service games, no, we just DONT LIKE games that ARE NOT fun. make a game fun, and giving it progressive updates as time passes keeps its players.. Playing… ugh…
Also arena fighters arent bad, but when the gameplay is bad… the gameplay is bad. Games in 2020's are supposed to offer multiple gameplay archetypes as well, with well crafted conensed worlds that have a lived in feeling with side activities and big open areas to travel across….

I don’t care if the Arkham universe isn’t finished in fact in my opinion there’s room for two more Arkham games one the Arkham origins sequel and two the Arkham knight sequel I realise finding a voice actor for the Arkham knight sequel would be almost impossible without kevin Conroy but as roger craig smith voiced Batman in origins at least you have an Arkham origins sequel
You could hack enemy weapons.

They could introduce Riddler in a DLC… Or Two face… Or Catwoman… Or ANY of the other villains that are clearly missing..
It’s okay. Just got it on sale. Makes me think of Arkham Games with Hogwarts Legacy DNA in grinding, crafting, and side missions. My only gripe in it is the frame rate drop and unstable video setting that makes it lag a lot even on high spec pc hardware
