It's a shame this game is a roguelike. That means it's not going to be possible to play at a challenging difficulty (for you) and manage to beat the game.
It could be argued that is alot of this group therapy work was done beforehand, they might have avoided prison.
The boat metaphors are back!
I finally just played through Valhalla the last couple of days and it has been fantastic. I avoided videos about it bc I heard what it was and how it was free and wanted to experience it myself, but god fucking damn ya’ll. It’s so fucking good.
At the end of each loop you fight a “final boss” and the final boss changes up their attacks each time 4 times in a row and they are the most fun I’ve ever had in a fight in a video game.
I was on my final run (unknowingly, I wasn’t sure when the ending would come) but the final boss was using so many different tactics and really challenging me that I could feel this had to be near the end or else the next fight would feel unbearable lol
By the end of that fight I was on a thread of hope, I had lucked out with the abilities I was given to choose and I had 2 main abilities that gave me health, my Rage which was the last one I needed to fight against this boss at the time to complete a Mastery objective, and a Relic which is just a special ability that I happened to take bc I thought I hadn’t taken it yet (to complete a Mastery objective)
I was on deaths door but so was the final boss, but bc I had upgraded this one weapon with some crazy abilities I was able to win out on my first try, long after I needed to go to bed, and finished the game of Valhalla.
I know there’s a bit more in there for me so I’m going to keep playing, but I LOVED my time with this DLC in a way the main game never hit.
It’s fucking good, ya’ll
I did not enjoy this game at all, I thought I would, but too many times it feels like I am watching a movie and too much hand holding. I used to be okay with the gameplay, but after playing Elden Ring and playing this game, it just doesn’t work anymore. Please no mean comments, I know people are passionate about this game, I am just giving you my 2 cents. Let’s make the internet a better place, where adults can talk!
Four minutes of nothing to do with GOD Valhalla
2 minutes of nothing to do with God of War
Valhala = Crumbling Farum Azula
I loved the dlc its amazing BUT (there is always a but) I would have loved if the bosses of the rouglike were the greek gods giving kratos a insight of him every time you kill one because while I love the dlc and the boss fights the only one giving you insight is mimir and the boss fights are recicle bosses that is not bad in asense but I dream ahead
I LOVE this series. My PS4 stopped working not long after i beat ragnarok shortly after its release, before NG+ Which i was EAGERLY awaiting. I came here looking for a hellblade 2 review but noticed this, had never heard of this before. I cant afford it right now but first chance i get im buying a new PS so i can play my NG+ and this sweet new dlc.
Skill Up clearly doesn't know what a dad bod is 🤣🤣.
God, the dialogue in this was cringe. You can tell this was written by middle age, woke American women. They do not understand Kratos or his story
Sweet baby inc detected. Not even gonna pirate this. Thanks anyway, shill up.
I might have misunderstood you, but it seems you've confused rogue-like with rogue-lite. This is a rogue-lite because is has permanents upgrades, a rogue-like wouldn't.
I hate it lol. Why couldn't they just make a normal dlc with normal storylines and quests instead of a rogue like which is nothing like the base game. I wanted more of what I got in the base game. Too bad I won't be playing it much. I'll be going back to the campaign again though that's was amazing
It's a Rougelite, not Rougelike, you had those backwards. A Rougelike is like……well, Rouge, pemadeath with no meta-progression, while Rougelite usually means meta-pregression and some fixed things in lieu of pure randomness.
I don't usually like like rogue like or lites, but this one and returnal are worth playing, so nicely paced with great story moments so as to maintain constant attention.
I was planning to skip this because I'm not a huge roguelike person. But man the story piece sounds so unmissable and I looooooooved the Ragnarok combat sandbox so I think I'm actually gonna check it out now. Great review!
6 HOURS?! Buddy I've been at this for 12 idk what you're talking about XD (Tho I did pick the highest difficulty, but still)
I've made it to Angrboda and so far has Ragnarok SUCKED compared to gow2018.
The mythical god Tyr previously depicted as an awesome motherfucker shows up like a soyfilled weakling, Artreus behaves like an annoying little child, and his 'soulmate' Angrboda is a black woman in NORSE MYTHOLOGY.
Like what the actual fuck. I bought the ps5 just to play this title because of all you shills, and can't recommend it to anyone who isn't a braindead NPC ignoring the blatantly subversive agenda being pushed.
God I loved this DLC. Moving stuff. And just a blast!
Absolutely fantastic review. You found a way to perfectly describe this game without having to delve into spoilers. Great video!
Did you just say kratus had a "dad bod" In God of war ragnarok ? 😂😂😂 are you blind ? Man still look like a God.
My guy, there are no Greek gods to seek vengeance. There is no more Greek pantheon.
Got me right in the feels with that intro and I don't mean the Manscape bits.
God of War 1 and 2 Remake is coming for PS5 + God of War 3 Remastered PS5 (Trilogy)
Never knew how to play this game either. It’s amazing how the combat has such a low floor and a high ceiling.
What are you talking about?
A great epilogue for God of War Ragnarok!
If you completed Ragnarok without needing to use other weapons then you weren’t playing on a hard enough difficulty to fully appreciate the game
This DLC makes me worried there won't be another God of War game
If that’s a dad bod? What does everyone one else have lol
this dlc is bizarrely similar to hades
pc when?
I was exactly the opposite, the moment I no longer had to use the axe, I immediately switched. The spear is by far my favorite
So you strongly recommend garbage lol ?
This is by far the worst dlc for god of war if ever!
You keeping repeating the same process over and over again and there is hardly any new interesting scenes in it! WTH…
OUT-FUCKING-STANDING Review again.👌 Really enjoyed this one.
Your reviews are so good. Youre a great writer Ralph!
You very easily can cool down dump. It was how I beat the last bosses super annoying 50% intermission. Max cool down and 2 runic for each weapon at lvl 3 makes you a chaotic whirlwind of damage and status effect bonuses
I actually wasn't gonna go back to the game despite the dlc, but this review convinced me to give it a shot
