I absolutely can't stand "the button" and now I finally know how it's called.
ive thought of making my own indiegame as someone who knows a slight bit of python i have no clue what im doing, the game theme is that you are a lab made disease made by terrorist scientists that sole purpose is to take over the body and make them commit suicide the game would be in levels and a puzzle game with some of the main themes being humor. If you have any ideas, opinions or thoughts leave a comment below this one
0:52 well, the trailer for Assassin's Creed Revelations was the opening cutscene, and it was pretty darn good.
how does gridpunk discord bring me here
How do you capture the charm of strategy games? Civ's trailers sure are awesome, but they don't really show much gameplay. We play them becos we already know they are good. And another example I can think of is Against the Storm, which is fun and addictive, its trailer is so boring I didnt even think of playing it… so is there a good example of strategy games trailers?
Thanks a lot for this video! Even today ità s really on point, and helped us make a trailer for our latest game in a much shorter time and with much better result that we would have had otherwise 😀
so far, whenever i saw a cool trailer for a game and went to see who made it, it's almost always derek lieu. it's the perfect antithesis of the no-gameplay style of trailer.
derek yu derek liue so confusion
Ghostrunner: Have a robot ninja drive a motorcycle into a giant mecha sand worm
btw it’s called Party Time
I’m trying to make a horror game, but I just have not found out the plot
I've been developing for 5 years but still keep forgetting to actually promote games.
Don’t make a indie game, make a great game
And then you have AAA title trailers, which are gorgeous 5 minute movies that show literally nothing about the game
Some even have 3 or 4 of these movies on their store page, so you can spend 20 minutes before switching to youtube and watching IGN play the game.
Damn now I want to pick up Subnautica again. Last time I played it a Ghost Leviathan ate my Seamoth and got I scared and stopped playing.
5:36 soy writing like this infuriates me
„Constipated Guerilla Studios“
this actually allowed me to develop an idea of what i want my game to look like lmao
omg 60 levels i have to buy dead reckoning: origins
Epic
Oh man, way of the passive fist sounds like the most boring thing ever. That is supposed to be a clever hook?
Sick beats in the background + close-up's of combat mechanics and movement intertwined with zoom-out's of level layout and game speed
So what I'm getting is that trailers is like writing a synopsis on the back of your indie comic book but with visuals.
It’s really interesting how much monster hunter trailers break the rule of the character not getting hit in the promotional material.
Lotus knight trailer seems to go against almost every point in this video
But hope lotus knight is fun when it comes ot
For me the best video game trailer is the one from rocket league
I hate review quotes. I don't care what other people think about this game.
I care about what I think about the game.
Im a simple man. I see Katana Zero, I like, subscribe, comment "you are a man of culture", and watch the entire video
I literally never subbed to a channel after a single video but here I am. Your call to action was prefaced with what your channel is usually about and before you even asked I was subbed.
i love the fact im watching this for my scratch game xD
katana zero 🙂
i really like l4d2 trailer 🎉

I just wanted to say abzu is a great relaxing before bed type game.
thank you you did good
Probably the best indie trailer I’ve ever seen is the Stanley parable “Raphael ” trailer. It nails the tone so well
I really like trailers that are mainly shots of concept art on a wall. They're cinematic, they reveal just enough to get you hooked. And in a way, it's like they're bringing the story into our world. It also makes it feel like there was a lot of passion and work put into the game.

Definitely making your games known IS THE HARDEST part of indie game dev
Thank you so much! It really is impossible to find assistance for folks who want to be trailer makers. It is nice to find a place with folks that have similar interests!
