God of War Ragnarok review. I think God of War Ragnarok is great, but it is not a masterpiece. The music used is of course …

the angrboda mission was a 10 min cutscene but they milked it so hard into a 3 hour fetch this fetch that mission fuck this game fucking sucks dick
The best part of the new gow games is going back to cleanse your palette with the original trilogy.
I don't know. The game has technically everything, but somehow it just doesn't make sens… And everything repeated over and over and over. Even the graphics. You have a boss fight. You can't win because he can fly, attack from distance, send missiles… Oh, and he's got friends that do the same. What a fun idea to ruin fun. To be honest fights are fun, from time to time, but it was more interesting to see the plans coming together, development of this story etc. I'm not saying that the story wasn't a little bit bad (especially stories with that little sh1t), but it was more interesting than those fights. Seriously, you need a bigger weapon to kill the beast, but to get that weapon you need to kill a beast, but you can't kill that beast because you need to kill a beast which you can't kill because you don't have power… Skills are pretty shit and overhyped rage is doing absolutely nothing to anyone. Rage in Dead island 1 was awesome, here, I don't even use it because it costs you life during fights and you don't even damage enemies. I mean you do, even kill them, but those ones you can damage with rage you cane easily kill with arrows. What is the point of it? Runic abilities… Maxed out… It creates massive this or massive that. Weak enemies die anyway, bosses don't even notice. The hell?? These fights were supposed to be fun. Where is fun in this when you know its pointless?
60 hours in and I can't anymore. This game should have been over at least 20 hours ago but I'm only 75% in. How do you finish this??? And why was this so damn expensive….
Personally I think it’s best looking game on the ps5. Ironwood being a huge fault I think is overhyped. Yes yalla is slow at times but there are enemies peppered throughout and you never spend more than a few minutes without engaging in combat.. I’ve also come to like using draupnir a lot more and also playing Atreus can be really engaging with all his slow down time abilities, he has more depth than I gave him credit for during my first playthrough.
I agree the story could’ve been better the weapon variety could’ve been a little bit better too and I feel like the story was good, but the story could’ve been even better like the story is a little too messy and weird. Honestly, the story should’ve been more cleaner and simple and more realistic like the gala horn starting Ragnarok that is not how Ragnarok started how Ragnarok starts and start taking affect is when when thimble winter starts, the giants and fire giants, and the world serpent, and Loki’s children start planning their attacks and the gods have very little time to train for the battle of Ragnarok, and how the battle Ragnarok starts is the Giants and the fire giants, and Loki’s children start marching to Asgard, and then the gala horn sounded to warn them the battle of Ragnarok has come
this game is at my top 3 gow games (gow3>gowr>gow1)
but I agree that it ain't 10 out of 10, didn't ask for the game to have goddamn teenage romance simulator sections lol
This game bored me so bad by the end, what a disappointment.
Absolutely agree with this idea. Don't call it God of War, because Kratos is God of Peace now. 🤣 There is nothing new in Ragnarok, just like a DLC of GoW 2018. Then, GoW Ragnarok is the most overrate game of 2022.
Everything you said made sense and then you blurt out that The Last of Us was phony compared to God of War??? What in the actual fuck… how do you even begin to explain that stance? Last of Us 1 does it so much better in every way and is easily the better game and best iteration of Sony's new style of "movie" game. Can't even sub after hearing that stupid take
BOW TO YOUR QUEEN 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
No stakes
No spectacle
No epicness except first Thor fight and garm and nidhogg but comparing to previous installments this is sigh.
Combat takes 2steps forward then 2steps back which equal no improvement at all.
No Ragnarok
Just more of mocap acting
American accents
Missed opportunity on lore
Score: 6-7 out of 10
Yeah story just didn’t work as well as the first one imo
I understand some people like these sorts of games because they can enjoy it while playing with their kids. But am I the only one that got a copy of Twisted Metal Black when they were ten? 😂
Man having older brothers was awesome. If your dad ever bought you games like that too, then you have an awesome dad.
The biggest issue is the lack of pay-off. For example, Kratos's prophecy that he will die is never a concern nor brought up ever again, we never get answers about the mask, which makes the Asgard sections feel all for nothing.
I also found this game as well as 2018 to be contraindictary in its message about fate as Kratos and his allies talk constantly about the importance of not letting "Fate define your life."
This is fine, but the issue is that it's not true because Kratos and Atreus's actions only lead to fulfilling prophesies, even INTENTIONALLY, because it's very evident that prophecy is always on their side. So Kratos and Atreus are happy to follow the exact lines of their prophecy because it benefits them in the end, even though the story confirms prophecies aren't real or powerful because they can be easily diverted without characters having to complete some perilous task. This brings into question why Odin and anyone would take prophecies so seriously if they can be so easily avoided that it makes "Fate" barely important.
The fact that the story doesn't point out this irony confirms that the writers genuinely made the mistake of "making a cake, but eating it too" because what the themes are really saying is that "prophecy only matters when it benefits you, but if it doesn't then screw it because we can just decide not to do it."
The main characters are all about breaking Fate but end up as nothing BUT the agents of Fate, which is also not serious because it can be broken easily.
honestly its a good game , but thats it nothing more, overrated in my opinion but a solid 8
This game started at a 10 and finished at an 8.
Acting and graphics were amazing. Story and gameplay were just ok.
I completed GOW 2018 and I'm about 10 hours into Ragnarok. I really enjoyed GOW 2018. The story and combat was great. But my biggest problem with GOW 2018 was the slow pace of the game and the lack of exploration. The main objective of any game should be providing a fun and entertaining experience. GOW 2018 imo was a mixed bag. There were epic moments of intense combat but most of the game was boring and restrictive. The game's main focus was the story and the relationship between Kratos and Atreus. There were alot of cinematic cut scenes to convey the story, which is fine, but it does feel like you are watching a movie instead of playing a video game. You also spend alot of time traversing from one place to another on the map but yet the exploration is limited. The game feels restrictive in where you can explore. Its a very linear game that tries to give you the illusion of being an open world game. I personally prefer open world exploration games like Horizon Dawn and Ghost of Tsushima over more linear games. Ragnarok is a little better than GOW 2018 in this regard but I can't help but feel like there is a lack of exploration. Overall, GOW 2018 was a solid game and Ragnarok has been good so far but these games are a little too overhyped imo.
My man was mostly criticizing the game (fairly and I agree) but then said nine out of 10 lmaooo
This game has more padding than a drag queens bra
I've said it before and I'll say it again. A good game that plays extremely safe and doesn't do anything to push the boundaries as an innovative games. It'll be a footnote in the God of Wqr Franchise and truthfully leaves me worried where this franchise it's going.
