The Todaiji Daibutsuden is illegally portrayed in game as well. It's a buddhist temple that is of great religious significance. They might as well cameo the prophet Muhammad while they're at it.
Was Thomas Lockley's book translated differently, or just localized liberally?
Is it just me getting some serious Afro samurai vibes from assassin's Creed shadows. Like the hole inspiration to put a black guy in this game was because the devs watched that garbage anime and they thought it was cool and they're like so like why not that's cool right.
It's very confusing
Just when you thought Ubisoft couldn't get any worse
They seem to mixing up Japan and China. China is racist towards black people. The only racism in Japan historically has been toward other Asians. More specifically people like the native Okinowans, Chinese, Koreans, etc. As far as whte and black people, the japanese seem fascinated the same way many in westerners are fascinated by Japanese people and culture. Even Nobunaga when he bought Yasuke he did it because he was fascinated by him.
I don’t care what anyone says this is gonna sell just because it’s in Japan like people have wanted
thegamer be like : blackwashing real history? thats ok. it should be for the mighty DEI
"whitewashing" fictional region? hell no. how dare them!!!
Ubisoft: "I don't care what they taught you in school. Japan is black."
Seriously, the nerve of these Yankees.
Normal people shouldn't treat these things like a joke anymore.
Because there are actually people this dumb in our world.
We should start treating these issues seriously or they'll take over our world and take powerful positions before we know it (and no, not a tinfoil hat).
I thank channels like Rev's that brings attention to these with a rational mindset.
so chews lying about history that it's everyone else who is racists and not them when the opposite is true , so the same thing they've been doing since the beginning of their existence….
I once saw a tweet that said 'assassins creed Shadows is also the first game to have dynamic season changes'.
I then replied saying 'also the first to have a character that doesn't fit the setting'.
I then had a reply saying I hated black people. It was wild but hilarious as I then replied saying it has nothing to do with colour, it has to do with changing history to fit DEI initiatives
日本の歴史を改変して日本を侮辱したゴミゲー
Ooh! OOOOHHHH! Is someone in trouble for ACTUAL Cultural Appropriation?! How deliciously ironic, considering how Woke they are!
unlike Western woke elite, Japanese leaders respect and know their own history. kudos to Japan for not allowing such factual falsehoods. probably nobody read the guy book until now.
100% they searched for "oda sword" and couldn't tell the difference between Eiichiro Oda (One Piece mangaka) and Oda Nobunaga.
It's one thing if Ubisoft admitted that they know Yasuke's history and his position at Oda Nobunaga's side is very vague, and that it made them get creative on how they will tackle that in their game (be actually samurai). It's another thing entirely if they claim that Yasuke has always been a samurai and used a source that is untrustworthy.
Personally, I really didn't see the problem at first because at the beginning, Ubisoft never claimed that Yasuke was samurai. In so far as his character was concerned, I actually commended it, because instead of making a fictional character that has a connection (or were born) in the setting they use, they used a vague person in feudal Japan, and got creative with him. But then everything snowballed down with observant people discovering a lot of small details that are just wrong for the setting they used, with the final nail in the coffin was that Ubisoft fully committing to their claim that Yasuke was samurai with their source being from someone who is not as ethical in his research.
Colours is all that matters to them , as long as they can portray a black man from any culture , they will do it , even if they had to rewrite the history.
Every AC game has rewritten history and is historical fiction. Every. Single. One. The backlash against an unreleased historical fiction game is over the top to say the least.
They didn't learn from The Women King and not from Black Cleopatra: rewriting history to confirm one's own fan fiction and racial or sexual fantasies doesn't end well.
I hate it when I find out that I share my first name with people like Lockley
How is it when someone with light skin wears a Sombrero it's cultural appropriation but someone with dark skin wears Samurai armor it's cultural appreciation.
i have nothing against a Black main character but when a game is set in Japan or other Asian regions i still prefer a Asian main character
トーマスロックリーは日本に黒人奴隷の歴史を押し付けようとしてるよ
Tbh I did think and I still do think the outrage over this game is silly. Assasin creed has never been accurate. But trying to revise history for your agenda for a fucking video game is plain ridiculous.
remember when they tried to do this sht with cleopatra? didnt work back then as well, its weird that its happened twice now.
The fact Japanese are mad about a black samurai and a JAPANESE WOMAN being protagonist in their game while other games like Nioh featured a CAUCASIAN Protagonist and the SAME black samurai as a supporting character or so many of their anime protagonists are CAUCASIAN, FINALLY confirms what a lot of non japanese who lived in japan have said for years that as a culture they have a MASSIVE Xenophobia problem that is HIGHLY centered around anti black culture that is LARGELY masked by their culture of non confrontational politeness in public. This is also backed up by their declining bithrates where much of the world has integrated birthwise with other ethnicities including black and dark skin hispanic
too long have black people from other countries been gaslight by WHITES who also participate in this anti black culture calling it in our head when we have seen or experienced this behavior from a significant amount of Japanese people in japan and in the diaspora.
All the YT channels and comments are showing black people were right. We are ALWAYS right when it comes to detecting racism.
bought a copy of the game to spite these people. Been thinking of going back and buying the $120 version for the game filter.
what they should do is go all in and rewrite the game so the two protagonists F*c* and make it graphic enough people in Japan can't even see it. problem solved.
Reactions on the internet don't lie even if they are botted. its ALL Data. Botting shows that there's still a group significant and desperate enough to continue white supremacy or anti black culture.
im black and like swords yay. like japanese people of ghost of Tsushima 1 and 2 for someone that looks like them lmao
