For me, the second the game makes me feel like its made with love and care and not at all as merely a cash grab, i become kinda blind to most of its flaws. This game was a prime example of that.
I got this game in November and thought it was amazing
yea item suck in this game near the end i was just ignoring the chest because every item i find was shit
I love how the Merlins trial has so many names in this one video lol
Loving this game, but some of the voice acting is straight up painful to listen to.
I used to be a wizard in hogwarts like you but i took a spell to my knee
Hilarious, I genuinely thought I hadn't heard right when you talked about the Morvin puzzles.
I am a huge HP fan and was very enthusiastic about the game. I just did around 50hrs of playthrough and I am so sad it's already over !
First of, I love the main quests and the most of the side quests. It was fun and when on so fast. I was super invested in the stories.
Flying was awesome, it was beautiful and in general it's incredible to explore. I was blown away a few times.
I also really enjoy the fighting, at the end you get so overpowered it got to my head ahah
What I didn't like :
In the beginning, I couldnt play for more than a few minutes before being dizzy and even nauseated. It got my headaches and stuff. The field of vision, how zoomed in everything is made me super sick. I changed my settings and it was better but honestly I would have still needed the character to be more centered and further from the camera.
I actively avoided going into houses because even in changing the settings, it made me feel super dizzy with the walls all closed in, and I hated how slow it made me move. It definitely made me stop exploring into houses and all of the nooks and crannies of Hogwarts. I'm still disappointed in that
I also hated the the merlin trials. 30 would have been good, but more than that just felt like a grind, an excuse to get the game to last longer but there was zero enjoyement after doing the same thing over and over again.
The AI is also really goofy and for a game of this generation, it feels wrong to have characters look into the wall when they are speaking to you, they don't react when you move etc, they just speak robotically to empty space.
I wish there would have beem more epic battles, and more quests with characters fighting alongside us. Those were my favorite moments.
And I agree with the video, I didn't care about the items I got by exploring at all, although I recognize the efforts and work put into creating them. It just didn't change much and I just ended up keeping the same outfit appearance the whole game.
So overall, some things I hated (the grindy feeling, the repetition, the headaches when getting into houses..) but despite that I can say I really enjoyed the game and I'm very impressed with it. It's a successful addition to the HP saga and the developers and artists did an amazing job ! Got emotional a few times and even cried at the end 😊
I would definitely recommend it, and I hope there will be a sequel, taking into consideration the remarks from the public.
I have a computer rig that is almost 6 years old (though POWERFUL) with no updates since initially built and have had no issues whatsoever with any performance issues. I've been so surprised with how well the game has been running for me and even more confused with the performance issues others have complained about since my old PC could run it so well. As a die-hard HP fan who usually avoids games with any sort of fighting in them due to overwhelming anxiety, man have I loved this game. The devs have poured unlimited love into the game and it shows. Looking forward to DLCs to keep exploring the game – I can't get enough of it!
I had mixed feelings after finishing it. A game that for 50-60% of its runtime looks wuite promising till the moment you realize this is one of the most mediocre formula open-world games with that hype.
Compared to the first three Harry Potter Ganes not enough time to be a normal dtudent at Hogwarts, beside this game having a 10x longer runtime, while having to be the chosen one from minute one. But also this aspect is portrayed in the most superficial way: A villain that is the pure evil, no relatable reason or even the try if a background story, side characters, that tell in it self sweet stories but they neither benefit the main story nor are the characters: Sebastian, Molly and Nathalie compelling at all. Also a game that loses consistently its magic once have have seen every part of it for the fist time. Beside the marvelous execution of Castle Hogwarts and Hogsmide what is there to do after collecting all collectables that sometimes are already feeling off (every second house in Hogsmide being closed with huge medieval locks just so a fifth grade can Alohomora them and steel the left houses, come on)
It may just me but I have not seen such a lazy open-world outside the Castle, even Horizon Forbidden West did this better.
In general a Game that can catch you if you try not to think or care about details too much but for me an overhyped and overestimated formula open-world that’s story is at the end if the day as boring as latest highly criticized Assassins Creed games. Without knowing what to be the main goal of this game and therefore putting a little something from everything the franchise had to offer into it
6/10
I live Hogwarts Legacy I love doing a lot of cool stuff. I’m into custommation side of things the clothes and the wand man awesome game of all time.
I wonder if any twitter freaks went after him for playing this game.
Just like the rest of his videos, negativity is once again being used as a proxy for intelligence.
Can a pothead play this game too ?
Ok bro, we get it!! You don't like JK Rowling. Take a chill pill. 💊
Definitely a game I want to play at some point. Probably when it’s on sale. If I was even slightly a Harry Potter fan I would be ALL OVER this on day one.
he didnt say mermin puzzle correct once… subbed
I see what you did there with Murdin puzzles;)
❤
So you say it's a pain to get gear? Try doing 1 week cool down multiple hour long 40 man raids just for a item to drop out of like 16 pieces and have to roll dice to get the highest number to get that item. Classic wow
MER – LIN
I'll be fair I've played 125 hrs 3 playthroughs and I think it could be tons better, it's a mediocre rpg with Harry potter skin, no elements like dragonage, character customization is lackluster, you can't interact with any furniture except press square to spin a astraglobe, tons of elements are missing and they spent way too much resources on collectibles and merlin trials, final fantasy realm reborn and dragon age are my most favourite rpgs they have tons of in depth quests and you bring others along with you, this game is hollow and empty and only has one best quest and that's Sebastians
Just a note. On the Xbox x never got any loading or frame rate issues
I groaned loudly anytime I got a notification that a keeper trial was ready. Preferred the side quests.
The game definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of world building and combat, but the story is so boring and most side quests feel the same
This game bored me to death
I loved the Merstin trials. They really made me feel like Melroserin.
First off, damage points that fly around when you damage people makes any game feel like a shitty mobile/arcade game. I can't begin to express how much I hate that.
Be that as it may, this game is brilliant in the fact that you can ‘’Turn off the damage numbers!’’ This game just keeps on getting better. This looks so good, but it is just not my thing. I'd much rather be up for a well written ,non woke cultist propaganda game set in the Lord of the Rings universe.
Destruction magics, illusion magics, alteration magics…all of the '' controversial ' ''Dark magics'' is just an everyday thing in Skyrim hahaha Skyrim is so bleak, I love it.
I look forward to having some of these spells modded into Skyrim.
Snape kills Dumbledore
I would have loved for this game to include more spells, like protego diabolica, fiendfyre, Dumbledore's firestorm, like unique spells. The main hit is kinda whack for me. And I totally agree on the gear upgrades. They were going the God of War route, but in that game upgrading your gear made sense.
This is only the second video I watched from Luke. He is very talented in his analysis and presentation. A real professional in a pleasant way. I'm very impressed after seeing thousands of other streamers for decades.
Game Studios should hire him to test their games and implement his suggestions. That will benefit us immensely.
Thanks Luke for your efforts!
The game underperforms in a ton of areas, but really nails that centeral point of immersing you into the wizarding world.
bro forgor the spiders which are everywhere
I don't care about HP at all, actively dislike a lot of it even. I find this game delightful. The inventory system is super simple; equip the highest gear and sell or destroy the junk. The game remembers every piece you pick up so you can quickly make any new gear look how you want. I prefer this to most inventories I've managed for how easy it is to look how I want. The last two games I played (Outer worlds/Cyberpunk) were a nightmare to manage with too many slight variations with different advantages or just terrible sorting options. No, I'll take this any day.
The almost nonexistent rpg elements are what irked me the most.
