Gotham Knights is still the best-looking comic book game to date, not even close. Arkham did a few things better relating to art design. They unfairly bash games that do not have Sony's name attached to it. They skipped over all the bugs that Spiderman 2 had upon release. How can anyone believe/trust DF on anything they say? DF praised Concord, enough said.
“Oh, but it has ray tracing! It generally looks like shit and runs terribly, but RAY TRACING!” DF, I kind of blame you for this ray tracing obsession 😂.
Knight looks like a ps3 game the shimmering light harsh colours, bad AA weird other issues.
but it worked for the style
thats is why return to is hated
return to arkham fixed these issues and made it look like a ps4 game but that was part of the style
This game is more focused on leveling and buffing armor while typical batman games are focused on combat. For example, i was under 2 levels off recomended level for Mr. Freeze mission and couldn't even scratch him 😂. When i got to recommended level I could give him some punches, but still it took me around 30-45 minutes in that boss fight. The game is great, but unfortunately consoles must put their subscriptions for money to play multiplayer. So even tho i have PS5, Would recommend this game to play SOLO on consoles and if you want multiplayer enjoyment, better use PC. The story is cool, but kinda not giving "The Batman" feeling. There are some musics missing, feels like the city is really dead because of his death. There are less criminals when batman is not around 😂

Remember, Arkham Knight had a terrible release too – it wasn't till a few years that it was running as we see it now…
Seems they just ported over their work to next gen consoles without taking advantage of the better hardware. 😆
Arkham Knight looked WAY, WAY better than this game and runs great. They should have just shelved this game. If you fall this short of the mark, the game doesn't deserve to come out.
Actually this game is a joke. I really loved the Arkham series, but this is just a half-baked version of those masterpieces. I could play it for like ten minutes then just deleted the demo on Ps5. Unacceptable fps drops even below 30? Really? In 2023?? I gave it a chance on a pretty capable Pc. It was around 60 fps in 1440p but still screan tears and stutters. And then I haven’t mentioned the absolutely uninteresting characters or the fake tough, poorly written dialogues. Anyway, it is not for me. 100% disappointment after Gotham Knight.
PC version supports up to 320 FPS.
I don't know why this game is being hated so much. I bought it yesterday and I am really loving the graphics. It looks so good and real. I don't know how Arkham knight is praised so much when to me it looks too greeny and hazy. May be just a personal preference. Also when it comes to performance, even though its 30 on console, I found it to be extremely smooth and responsive. I wanted to get this message forward, so that people knows there are people like me who actually likes the visuals and performance. Now whether the actual game is good or bad, that is something I'm yet to discover.
How sad, wouldn’t even buy a disc copy for SX/ps5 at $15. And still it’s stuck at 30fps. Expecting this studio to be shuttered before long
Tbh Gotham knights has a lot of crime and also it’s sooo fun
In my opinion it should start with an FPS mode as a standard and work backward from there. All the bells and whistles are nice, but without a performance mode to get me over 30fps on series x, Gotham Knights extremely disappoints. At least CD Projekt Red stood by Cyberpunk. WB Montréal just abandoned their title. Shameful how they did that.
I installed both AK and GK and after playing GK, graphics wise, gameplay and story were better in GK. Tried the combat in AK again and it just felt OK. What's funny is I actually really enjoyed it before and while it's still ok, I ended up preferring the more strategic and harder combat in GK along with the story and world. Graphics wise to me, GK does look significantly better in my eyes, despite what people say. The lighting, textures, character models etc looks better in every way. It surprises me that people actually think AK looks better simply because of art style? I play on PC maxed out settings by the way, so yeah, I can see everything in detail right up close
Is it still 30fps on consoles?
Visual identity Arkham City even looks better. Sure it doesn't have the technical stuff this does but even that gsme looks better to the eye.
9th gen game, 8th gen graphics, 7th gen fps.
Batgirl alone saves this game. so good
It's embarrassing to see the game gets compared to almost a decade old spiritual predecessor made with UE 3.5
As a Game Producer i am baffled that WB didn't make the call to use an aggressive DRS and possibly a toggle for RT to mitigate insane performance issues.
At very least if the game had some visual identity you could overlook some of the problems here, thanks for the performance analysis, i would definitely stayed TH away from it after watching this!
I got this game for free and am glad I did not pay for it. It is no way close to the predecessors as the combat is boring, robotic and unresponsive. I have the i7 13700 paired with a 3080 and 54 gigs of ram and I experience studder and dropped frames at times. It is an interesting story so far, but the game needs patching and reworking.
I love how system's become more powerful but framerates get worse lmao what a bogus industry.
And people here in comments will say it's still playable.
Should I buy it on series x or ps5???
Playing Gotham Knights PC at 45fps average on 1440p. It's not a terrible game, it still has good visuals and so far a pretty interesting main story! Only issue is that 4 main characters is a bit too much for me.
The combat was the main thing they should've copied or took inspiration from Arkham. The actual gameplay is most important. The feeling of chaining moves together, zipping around, the crunch, thud, whams of the bad guys bones so satisfying. I wanted a batman game where I could be Batgirl, actually explored the open world. Oh well
