Never ever listen to stuff like this anymore. I pre ordered this game when Ive seen this video and then it was a waste of money. I didnt even finished a game.Never ever buy a game before its realised and after Watch at least few reviews AFTER game is released. Wish I never seen this stupid video before the game comes out.

This really aged poorly after your review. Sure playing is still different then watching, but after watching 14hours of it, its not like your presented with new visual content to make your opinion change so drastically.

I have the game and I’ll say this. Wait for a sale. It’s not a bad game whatsoever, but it’s also not great. I feel hype really hurt this game because it really doesn’t live up to hype in any form or fashion. I’m about 6 hrs in and it reminds me of super Mario in a sense. For example the turtles in super Mario change in color, but contain the same sprite image through out the whole game. In this game you’re really only fighting the same 3 enemies over and over. Also I can’t stress enough on how linear the gameplay is. It really feels like you’re playing a demo set to a script. Again these are minor issues, but for $60 and the way money is tight this day and time. I find it extremely hard to recommend to anyone when games like Elden ring, GOW, resident evil village 3rd person dlc, and signalarity released this year. Yes i know they’re different game genres, but they all lived up to their price tag in both experience and the replay value is through the roof. Again this is only my opinion I’m not hating on the game I’m just trying to save some people their hard earned money. I’ve had my experiences of letdowns like Anthem, no man’s sky, and cyberpunk. So I understand the pain.
Anyone with horror experience always noticed how this game is kind of a facade. they marketed it as survival horror but is just a very linear action horror game. Theres no maze like map, no backtracking, no item management, no save stations far from each other like real survivor horror games. It's just rooms with generic monster zombies (like 4 types of them lol) full of checkpoints. The combat is alright, but also very one sided and very basic.

Lol to those game times. Dead Space 7h… DS2 5-7h? Did that he tried to speedrun them in his first attempt or what? Both game are almost twice as long in their first playthroughs.
Callisto Protocol is pretty much the same, so all good here. But man that bullishit with those times. Re7 4-6h rofl.
Based off of the other big reviewers, I’m starting to think that the developers leaked this themselves because no one is giving this game great scores besides the review that was “leaked”

It feels like a very generic horror game that has like 5 enemy types and its just not worth $60.
Death animations shouldn't have been a priority. Maybe make the game fun and interesting first?

I'm pretty excited to pick this up next week sometime, I'm trying not to know too much about it, but the Dev diary's, my goodness those guys n gals are an extremely upbeat and energetic team, originality in games is very lacking I've noticed lately but everything about this seems like a fresh coat of paint I've been yearning for, I can't wait to meticulously analyse it's hugely appealing story and content I'm kinda hoping you do two Separate reviews for last gen and this gen (PS4/5) versions of the game, thanks heaps for your run down of the game
Game of the year lol the reviews have been meh. I'll stick to Pokémon.
I do think the embargo, considering the current state of the industry, has likely hurt sales and was a bad pr move. It immediately comes off as shady, whether the game is good or not. Anybody who was on the fence about this game may very well wait for a sale. But i do hope im wrong and this game does well in the long run. We need more single player experiences like this.
Don't know about the console version, but the PC version's performance seems to be extremely bad.
Some people are even calling it "The Stutter Protocol", because apparently the game is suffering from heavy stutter issues.
THE GAME IS TRASH, A SNOOZE FEEST! Cant sleep play Callisto Protocol for an hour. the most Absolute boring game i have ever played. thank god i brought it on PC after playing for 2 hours 34mins I have been refunded, YERR!
Most likely The review that was leaked was intentional, deliberatly released so console gamers who were in doubt would buy the game with no option of refund once they hit play at same time reviews release.
Gamers this needs to stop, Too many developers are doing this same tactic to increase revenue, because they know once the bad reviews hit no one will buy the game, we as comsumers need to start seeing the warning signs.
I've watched four review videos and all disappointed. Glad I bought Midnight Suns instead.
