Just gotta appreciate the use of FMA 03 music in this video
I’m grateful you discussed the whole “there’s a cute cat, therefore it’s good” disease. I like cute animals as much as the next person but when people turn off their brain like that, you don’t seem like an animal lover, you just appear annoying.
blawg, look me in the eyes, and tell me that you think that taking the CAT out of the CAT game, renders it mediocre at best. who could've fucking guessed? new age einsten here
why do you even pay attention to user reviews? they always suck
Bro, 0.3 hrs on Metal Gear Rising? You have no idea how much of a mulligan I'm giving you by continuing to watch the rest of this vid
Little Kitty Big City is like Stray, but better
If you changed the protagonist with the generic human mute character this game wouldn't change A THING. LKBC would be very weird if it wasn't a game about a cat.
That's the problem. It's a "cat game" just because.
If you want a cute cat platformer and the "be a cat experience" get Little Kitty Big City. It's cheaper and easier to run.
It's an actual sandbox platformer not a bunch of cutscenes and LOOK HOW REAL THIS LOOKS.
You can jump climb and basically do cat things, it doesn't pretend to be groundbreaking. It's just fun.
Not every game needs to be a grey reminder of the decline of mankind you're THE CAT GAME remember that.
@ManleyReviews 4:38 Am I the only person that noticed that sweet extension cord coiling action?
Bought this game along with my ps5. Pretty disappointed so far and the gameplay was sending me to sleep. The whole thing feels like a glorified cutscene with how little control you're given as the player. I've played better point and clicks, I've played better platformers, I've played better stealth titles.
The game has vibe and really basic puzzles.
It all feels very lowest common denominator casual gaming to me. It would have worked better as a short film.
"The walking simulator isn't any more fun when you are a cat" is not a concept casual npc's are unable to understand.
bro, that cutscene is rain world 😂
Play Rain World.
This reviewer is secretly a dog person.
Nice use of the “Troff N’ Scoff” theme.
Glad someone finally said it…
Listen. I understand what you're saying.
But at the same time…
✨ 😺 ✨
I liked it 🤷🏽♂️
This guy is my type of guy.

The big problem with Stray was that you couldn't lick your ass. Totally unrealistic.
Little late to the comment section here, but I was thinking the exact thing about this game when i played it. It was alright, but playing as a cat seemed so inconsequential, you could fit any other animal in there with some minor tweaks, and it would be the same game. People praise it because cats rule the internet. Without cats, its pretty unremarkable
'low budget environment'. thought it looked like portal 2 lol 🙁
i love the meow meow ni**a meme
Despite its faults Stray was awesome and just paves a proof of concept for something to follow where this game left off. Don't watch a video on it, play it. There is value here and just because its short doesn't mean its not worth grabbing on sale (yeah $30 is a bit steep try when its goin for $15 or so)
Now with that being said, I think a cool way to fix alot of the "button prompt for every action would be to 1) have a dedicated paw swipe/claw button 2) instead of having "press X to jump" hold R2 to prepare and have an arched line showing where you land in which at that point press x to execute the jump. leaving room for error on moving platforms.
I sincerely hope this game gets a sequel.
A game that claims to be all about being a cat, focusing on everything but the exact thing it advertised itself as.
Ah, yes – the "puzzle" where you just look around and then they tell you the answer, rather than actually analyzing the situation and going "Oh, that's what I do!"
Oh noes it wasnt another open world pseudo rpg 0/10.
You assholes would trash journey ico or SotC if it came out today
I love cats, but I couldn't even finish this. I got so frustrated by the lack freedom, it's all just to simple. Meowdiocre.
I just finished the game. I agree with most of what you said, except I enjoyed the exploration. I'll never get to see Kowloon Walled City, so getting to explore a fictional version was kinda nice.
Despite the game's many flaws, I had fun, and I'd love to see a bigger, better version of the game.
1) Glad I was wary about purchasing this game 2) 9:19 I see you with the Röyksopp my fellow man of culture
Got that game when the disc version came out. Still wrapped because dumbass me didn't consider I'm never at home anyways, so I got it on Steam too. Wrote a review that you've covered in literally every aspect I brought up: Pretty game, but playing anything else than a cat would've made no difference and it feels like a walking and dialogue clicking simulator. Would recommend it for 10 bucks, but 30 bucks are way too exaggerated for a button prompt demo.
Manley better review Little Kitty, Big City when it comes out.
1:56 PSPSPSPSPS5 is one of the best cat jokes I've ever seen.
5:37 This is how someone who spent a lifetime in "construction" holds an N64 controller.
9:18 🎵"Everywhere I go… there's always something to remind me… of another place and time…"🎵
dogs > cats
I shit you not, I specifically remember this game being marketed as a crime investigations game but playing as cats. Not whatever this is.
Thank you for not being a redditor's review
I think the problem is that Stray seemed to be advertized as an adventure/platformer title, even though its more of an interactive story / walking sim.

the midnight again!
sorry, discovering your channel mate, listening to some vids while in work lol
very nicely made vids i might add.
For me it was a great comfort game for me. I enjoyed it. It's not anything special, but it wasn't bad. There are many much worse games.
