Helldivers 2 is certainly doing pretty well. I mean, it wasn’t for the better part of a month after it launched, but these days it’s kicking …

The only good bug is A Bug's Life.
I hope we get bug hole mission in HD2.
Starship Troopers definitely has a story. You should read it.
Rock and stone!
ROOOOOCK AND STOOOOOONE!!
rock and stone
Deep rock ia a smaller closer quarters gameplay so not my taste. Helldivers 2 is always actively lying like them saying you cant run 2 mechs so that game isnt an option either. Only game ive been playing out of these 3 now is starship troopers extermination. Its larger scale than either game and doesnt troll players like helldivers 2 does so this has been my pick for months now.
I hope Extermination gets some fame after the Helldivers drama.
Hell divers is amazing, but Extermination deserves love too. especially since it's the IP that Helldivers takes from the most.
DRG does differ from the other two in how the player character views their employer.
These dwarves dont really seem to care for their company, they just love their job and their colleagues, but the company? Theyll swear and complain about management at every chance they get.
They do this work out of love of their job, their crew, and gold. None of them would ever shout out "For DRG!", because they dont care for DRG, they dig these mines for themselves, and they shoot these bugs for Karl.
Honestly I play all three, and all of them have stuff enjoyable to do, i think if i had friends to play Starship trooper with tho it would be more fun, but i have people to play HD2 and DRG so i think that those are my top. its hard to make a choice out of those two, but i enjoy player both along side each other, DRG is less stressful id say, and it makes for a good starter or ending game for the night. but all in all im just happy to see games like this getting more popular.
for me DRG is the better game over all due to it 1 having a modding scene. 2 offline play. and 3 able to be run on a potato pc with no issues….
Helldivers2 is the best one. I have all 3. My 40 bucks For Super Earth!!!
FOR ROCK AND STONE
1:55 ROCK. AND. STOOOOONE.
DRG Season 5 begins June 13th.
Imo DRG is the best out of the 3 and its not even close, but the other 2 games from this video are good in their own ways.
Though it is a shame that both Sony and Arrowhead games have both ruined Helldivers for me
Why is DRG better than HD2?
I think the class design and variety of missions in DRG are big strengths that put it ahead of HD2. DRG encourages teamwork and tends to have elegant designs that do more with less. But I think there are 3 factors that make DRG significantly more fun, especially at higher difficulty, than HD2.
1) You deal a lot of damage in DRG. This means that you are capable of completely clearing waves with sustained attention. There are moments of tension when you fight, and moments that are more chill when you've cleared the waves. In HD2, you do so little damage (except with stratagems gated by cooldown) that you simply cannot kill all enemies on the higher difficulties. If you sit in one place and put all your attention on killing bugs, there will continue to be more and more bugs.
2) DRG has more interesting terrain. Because the terrain in HD2 is fairly flat and open on almost all maps, you can see bugs coming from very far away, and you tend to have a clear escape route at all times. In DRG, enemies can get very close to you before you see them, and they come from many angles simultaneously including from above and below. You are also more frequently forced to fight in close quarters or on the edge of a cliff where you have no ability to escape.
3) DRG has enemies which can punish you for not shooting enough. Examples include ranged enemies, flying enemies, and static enemies that shoot you when you run into a new area. You simply cannot run away from these enemies. The only way to deal with them is by shooting. HD2 has some ranged enemies, but they tend to have a very short range and not be very fast.
These factors encourage a very active playstyle in DRG. You will get jumped by bugs and they will get close to you. You have to use your guns to defend yourself constantly. In HD2, you can run away from bugs and if you do, they might not ever catch up. You are punished for shooting (because you can't kill all bugs). So, HD2 encourages a very passive playstyle which can make it feel less like a shooting game and more like a running simulator.
Deep Rock Galactic will commend you for making a profit with a big ol tankard of ale.
The Federation will ask if you would like to know more and let you know citizenship is something to be earned.
Super Earth will just kill ya for sneezing wrong.
Plot armor can’t stop democracy
A good bug is E-017
A good bug is a dead bug
A good bug is a shiny rock
What about EDF? I good contender in this genra too 😉
STE makes me sad. It's a good game and just needs more time, but I dont think it's going to get it
No Buenos-Aires server for ST: Extermination is just shameful…
strengh and weaknesses of each
helldivers 2:
pros:
-the most bombastic and adenaline-pumping out of the 3
-most varied loadouts, untied to a class system
-community-run campaign makes the game feel alive
-frequent, small additions to the game keep thing fresh
-the fact there is more than one enemy faction leads to the most varied combat (DRG has the Rivals sure, but they are more an addition than a full replacement for the bugs; they dont feel like a fully fleshed second enemy faction, and the rockbox feels more like a gimmickification of the bugs), and fighting each has a completey different vibe from fighting the other
cons:
-signed a deal with the devil with Sony that will screw it in the long run
-game is currently too big and too successful for arrowhead to handle it properly, especially bugs wise, and the frequent additions to the game dont help
-community-wise, its unstable, as arrowhead's own decisions and the actions of the community managers have set the entire community on fire more than once.
Starship troopers extermination
pros:
-the only coop game out of the 3 that can acommodate groups bigger than 4 people, a rarity in the industry
-the base building is fun
cons:
-enemies have very little variation, and tend to be bullet sponges wih almost no feedback from your own attacks
-the maps arent procedurally generated, yet dont have the kind of detail that could make that choice superior to procedural generation, leading to run fairly bland maps that are the same mission after mission.
-loadout customization is the most limited of the 3, though this ay be the result of the game still being in early access.
-very few large battles happen out of the player-made bases; it has the most repetitive gameplay of the 3, as you almost always having a fortress to help you face hordes eans most of the action is just being perched high up and shoting bugs till you need to fetch ammo.
-related to the above, the vast majority of enemies cannot deal at all with a player that managed to get on top of a high object (while in DRG enemies can climb any terrain, and in helldivers ranged enemies are plentiful and such terrain is fairly rare, with most of it beign buildings that can be destroyed and never replaced)
neutral:
-the only one still in early access, so may change a lot in the future.
Deep Rock Galactic
pros:
-best maps out of the 3 games, and they are procedurally generated on top, keeping things fresh
-rewards cooperation the most, and the only one that does it even out of combat situations
-has the objectives that bring the most variations to gameplay
-the only game out of the 3 where terrain matters a lot, and can be modified to suit your needs. one could even say the terrain (and lighting) is as much of an obstacle to overcome than the enemies themselves
-friendliest community out of the 3 games
-the most accomodating if you wish to play solo
-best cosmetic system out of the 3 games
cons:
-progression can be a bit slow, especially since RNG is invloved in getting the overclock you want (though playing for long enough guaratees you will eventually get what you want as you deplete the loot pool)
-is less action-packed since more breathing room is provided to allow players to mine out the caves. Its intense moments are great especially in the harder difficulties (that scale mostly enemy numbers), but it has the most lulls in the action to make room for navigating caves
-deep rock being older (as stated int he video, its the only one of the 3 that has seen a full release, and its been out for years buy now), it lost some steam development-wise with updates becoming less frequent. Its especially blatant with the devs seemingly moving on to newer deep rock themed projects like DRG survival and DRG rogue core.
We're rich!
Bro just described what happen in Iraq in 60s💀
Starship Troopers: "I'm doing my part!"
Helldivers 2: "For democracy!"
Deep Rock Galactic: "MASH ROM"
All of the "balance" updates we have been getting with Helldivers 2 made me start playing DRG. Helldivers 2 balance devs seem to have an anti fun policy so I'm done with it until they fix that.
I think DRG has the most personality of the three and for me personally I think DRG has the most legitimately memorable moments from mission to mission. I may not remember all the maps I've played but that little bit of extra attention you have to pay to traversing the map does cause you to actually remember some of the cave formations which makes the world feel a little bit more impressionable. In Helldivers the direction your traveling next is the only relevant terrain information that you actually have to remember.
I believe Deep rock is just special… Im confident it will still be great working game in 5 years… Im not so sure about helldivers with that statement
edf series if you just want chaotic fun
DRG has the best soundtrack (by far) and general sound design. I love the 3D traversal aspect of the caves as opposed to flat open ground. The weapon tuning is spot on. I like that missions are one and done unless you're on a Deep Dive. The side objectives are the most fun of the three games, imo. Teamwork feels more central to DRG.
Helldivers seems to do difficulty scaling better though. Maybe because there are 9 difficulties instead of 5 like DRG, you can fine tune the experience a bit more for yourself.
Haven't played any Starship Troopers, but I've watched gameplay and love the universe. Both DRG and HD2 would be a blast with more players in a match like in Starship Troopers.
FOR CARL!
Helldivers 2 FTW
I admit i really enjoyed the atmosphere in Starship troopers in the first week or so of launch, the constant over dramatic movie quotes and RP was great
starship troopers is better
What about EDF???
10:59 ironic helldivers2 on its way out
DRG is better in all ways, stable for more than 4 years but u still recommend the buggy trendy game ? doesnt make any sense but ok 🙂
HD2 music: Action movie soundtrack
DRG music: Synth ambience
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!
Its simple for me. I hate first person shooters so helldivers 2 was right up my alley.
ROCK. AND. STONE.
Starship Troopers is my favorite! especially with the large player coop. The server join is super fast, sometimes even takes 10 seconds. I played hive yesterday and it was a blast. The perks, weapons and utilities are perfectly balanced and it has a "Very Positive" rating on steam. They just released a new update for better class balancing, better graphics, and even a new map! The developers are very passionate about this game and that's why its my favorite.
Don't be fooled by this guy, he didn't even get the player count right.
Danger, Dwarves, Democracy
Get DRG on sale, play it until HD2 goes on sale, get both. Life good
Demock and Stonedom
Somewhere in another universe

I will regret not getting DRG while it was free on PS plus forever.
Rock and Stone
How about a cup of LIBER-TEA!
Starship Troopers game wasnt very good. Deep Rock Galactic is the best game of the bunch but Helldivers 2 is fukn awesome in its own right.
