We are going way-back in time for this Retro Rewind article.
Scientific American is an active American popular science magazine currently published monthly by Springer Nature Group. Founded in 1845 by American painter, inventor and publisher Rufus M. Porter (1792–1884), it is the oldest continuously published magazine in the United States.
Each issue features original articles, in-depth stories, and expert opinion by journalists, scientists, scholars, policy makers and people with lived experience of scientific or social issues. Published papers cover the latest research and developments in science, health, technology, the environment and society.
During its tenure, the magazine has included articles by more than 200 Nobel Prize winners and leading figures in the field, including Albert Einstein (1879–1955), Linus Pauling (1901–1994) and J. Robert Oppenheimer (1904–1967).
Here we have Volume 121 Issue 8 from 1919. Enjoy!
